Jon Jones has reacted to the rhetoric that Dominick Reyes had actually done enough to dethrone him as the UFC light heavyweight champion at UFC 247 back in 2020. 'The Devastator', has now offered his own response to the ex-205-pounder on Instagram.

The MMA Junkie shared a post of Jones advising Reyes against his continued obsession with asserting that he won their scrap. He urged his past rival to focus on bettering himself. Naturally, Jones' advice drew a wave of reactions from countless fans on the social media app.

Among the people who replied to Jones' advice was Reyes himself. Instead of a combative response, 'The Devastator' was far more diplomatic, which both surprised and impressed many, who flocked to his comment to offer their thoughts.

"Appreciate the advice John. God Bless. Good luck on your journey, may you finish with a full heart."

One fan expressed admiration for Reyes, while simultaneously expressing contempt for Jones.

"Respect for Dom, zero respect for Jon."

Another fan reaffirmed Reyes' argument for having beaten Jones in the past, claiming that the composure and confidence in 'The Devastator's' response stemmed from knowing that he did indeed beat Jones.

"Only a man who knows you beat him would respond like that. Take that as confirmation, Dom. Congrats on the great performance."

Other comments simply spoke highly of Reyes.

Some comments celebrated Reyes' recent rebound win this past Saturday, when he knocked out Dustin Jacoby in round one.

"Happy to see you win over the weekend classic Reyes way!"

While Jones and Reyes have chirped at each other since 2020, they are unlikely to ever fight each other again, as Jones is now the UFC heavyweight champion.

Jon Jones' last light heavyweight fight was against Dominick Reyes

Jon Jones captured the heavyweight title in early 2023, when he submitted former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane within two minutes at UFC 285. Before that, 'Bones' hadn't competed in three years, with his final fight having been at light heavyweight.

That fight, incidentally, had taken place against Dominick Reyes. The two men had a closely-contested affair, with Jones claiming victory via unanimous decision in highly controversial fashion.
