Ahead of its first anniversary Diablo Immortal will have a crossover event with Diablo 4, which will also be celebrating the official release of the former on June 6, 2023. The event will introduce a fair bit of additional content to the free-to-play title to get franchise fans a bit more excited about the latest entry in the series.

Diablo Immortal had one of the most controversial launches in the franchise’s history, and the player base was not exactly happy with how the title went around with its microtransactions, making it pay-to-win. However, the title remained a commercial success for the developers, surpassing missions of dollars regarding their global sales. Now, with the upcoming event, the developers will seek to get more players into Immortal.

The crossover event is yet to have an official start time. However, the developers have confirmed that it will be sometime in the first week of June 2023 and will be deployed parallel to Diablo 4’s release.

For the event, Blizzard has announced the arrival of themed content in Diablo Immortal, like The Merciless Monstrosity event, Children of Lilith Battle Pass, and Hatred’s Heritage Phantom Market.

However, some of the biggest highlights of the crossover, along with the events, will be the addition of Lilith-themed cosmetics that players can access. Fans will enjoy a part of the lore from Diablo 4, which will involve the creation of Sanctuary (the setting of the latest entry) by Inarius and Lilith, the two biggest opposing factions in the game.

As a part of Diablo Immortal’s one-year anniversary celebration, the game will also see a new zone and a new class. The new zone will be called Ancients’ Cradle and will be playing host to a reclusive tribe. As for the new class, Blizzard is yet to provide additional details on it apart from the fact that it will revolve around a mid-range playstyle.

The crossover and anniversary will be released in tandem with the Diablo 4 release making it quite an exciting time for long-standing franchise fans.
