Nicknamed “The Dinger”, Anthony James Allmendinger is one of the most talented road-course drivers in the arena of NASCAR. The Los Gatos native started a part-time stint with Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2019 and carried it over throughout 2020. However, success started showing up only when he landed a full-time deal with Matt Kaulig’s team the following year.
Allmendinger won five races en route to the regular season championship and finished fourth on points. In addition to that, he also got his team its first Verizon 200 victory in the Cup Series that year. He followed up on his stellar season with another triumphant year, marked by five other victories, including a fourth consecutive win at the Charlotte ROVAL, and the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular-season Championship for the second successive season.
After a four-year gap, Allmendinger made his comeback in the Cup Series last year driving the #16 Chevy for Kaulig Racing and recording seven top-10 and four top-five performances, besides a win in the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at the Charlotte ROVAL. This year, he will be running full time in the Xfinity Series and part-time in the Cup Series.
