Bubba Wallace is the only African-American driver in the current NASCAR grid. He is the driver for 23XI Racing competing full-time in their no. 23 Toyota Camry XSE. Wallace is the most successful African-American driver in the history of the sport. He was part of both Toyota and Ford Driver Development Programs during his years in the Xfinity.


He made his debut in NASCAR while replacing the injured Aric Almirola in the no. 43 car of Richard Petty Motorsports. Wallace was later given a drive in NASCAR Cup Series with Richard Petty Motorsports.


He has made steady moves in NASCAR during his career of 7 years, establishing himself as the go to driver for 23XI Racing, Bubba Wallace currently has two Top-5 finishes in the starting races of the 2024 Cup Series. Wallace’s best finish in NASCAR Cup Series came during the 2023 season. He couldn’t win a race that season but he still managed to claim a 10th place finish in the Driver’s Standings.


Bubba Wallace Wins

Bubba Wallace has eight wins combined in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He has two victories in the Cup Series, both of which came for 23XI Racing and 6 wins in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Wallace won the 2021 Yellwood 500 giving 23XI their first victory in the sport. He went on to win the 2022 Hollywood Casino 400 and became the only African-American driver to win twice in NASCAR. Bubba Wallace came close to winning the Daytona 500 twice in 2018 and 2022 when he finished 2nd in the race.


Wallace couldn’t win in the Xfinity Series but he has 6 wins in the Craftsman Truck Series. His first win in the Truck Series came in his debut season at the 2013 Kroger 200 while racing for Kyle Busch Motorsports. His first victory in NASCAR came in an incredible fashion when the Yellawood 500 was shortened due to rain. Wallace was leading the stage 2 during caution and when the race was ended he became the official winner of both Stage-2 and the final race.

Bubba Wallace Top-10s

Bubba Wallace has 34 Top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Cup Series and two pole positions. He has acquired 36 Top-10s in Xfinity Series and 30 Top-10 finishes in the Craftsman Truck Series respectively. Bubba Wallace got his first point in NASCAR with an incredible 2nd place finish at the 2018 Daytona 500. However, he could finish in the Top-10 only two more times that season ending up 28th in the Driver Standings.


Wallace had 9 Top-10 finishes in his breakout season with 23XI Racing. He finished at his career highest in Driver’s Standings during the 2023 season with another 10 Top-10 finishes. Bubba Wallace has been showing consistency over the years in the Cup Series with regular Top-10 finishes. He has two Top-5 finishes in the ongoing 2024 season and is expected to win a race this year.
