Erik Jones grew up in Byron, Michigan in the United States. Erik Jones is a NASCAR Cup Series driver who races for Legacy Motor Club. He drives the No. 43 Toyota Camry XSE in the Cup Series. Jones is known as EJ and That Jones Boy, which was a nickname given to him by announcer Ken Squier. He was in the driver development program for Toyota. Erik Jones is a championship winner in NASCAR. He won the 2015 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He earned the Rookie of the Year Award in all three NASCAR series consecutively.

Erik Jones is the first driver in NASCAR to achieve the Rookie of the Year award in all three NASCAR Series. He earned the 2015 Rookie of the Year award in the Truck Series, the 2016 award in the Xfinity Series, and the 2017 award in the Cup Series. Erik Jones has been racing in the NASCAR Cup Series for 9 years. He has started 267 races achieving 3 victories and 89 Top-10s in the sport. Erik Jones’s racing career began at the age of seven with quarter-midget racing. He shifted to racing stock cars at the age of 13. Jones became the youngest winner of the Oktoberfest race at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway. He moved on to the CRA All-Star Tour in 2011 and won the series championship in his rookie year. He also won the Governor’s Cup 200 late model race at New Smyrna Speedway in the same year. He led every lap of the event. Erik Jones was the first driver not born in Florida to achieve the feat in over 30 years.

In December 2012, Erik Jones won the prestigious Snowball Derby. He raced against Kyle Busch and held him off to win the race. He won the race again next year after Chase Elliott was disqualified after post-race inspections. Jones made his NASCAR debut in 2013 with Kyle Busch Motorsports. He had his first full-time season in the Cup Series in 2017 with Front Row Motorsports.
