Josh Berry grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee in the United States. Josh Berry is the newest face on the NASCAR Cup Series grid. He will be competing for the Rookie of the Year honors with other new drivers in the 2024 season. He drives the no.4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Stewart-Haas Racing. Berry will be switching to Wood Brothers Racing in the 2025 Cup Series according to a multi-year deal he signed in July 2024. Stewart-Haas Racing will shut down operations at the end of the 2024 Cup Series season. Berry has already achieved three 3rd places during the ongoing NASCAR season as of July 2024.

Josh Berry has merely raced 33 times in the Cup Series but he has 7 Top-10s as of July 2024. He is also an accomplished racer in the Xfinity Series. In his 97 Xfinity Series starts, Berry managed to claim 5 victories and 52 Top-10s while racing for JR Motorsports. He is also a legendary driver in the CARS Tour history. Berry is the all-time wins leader in CARS Tour overall and CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour. He has managed to sweep 22 victories in the series.

Josh Berry Background

Josh Berry has a very unique background that helped him reach the top of stock car racing. Berry used to work as a bank teller to support his endeavors before his racing could provide a steady income. He was the classmate of IndyCar champion Joseph Newgarden. Berry was competing in an online sim-racing tournament called DMP Online Racing when he met his future team owner in 2008. He was racing Legends Cars at the time while working as a bank teller.

Berry was later on recruited by Dale Jr. in 2010 to race as a Late Model driver for JR Motorsports. He was also the crew chief for Dale Jr. in 2022 in the CARS Tour Window World 125 Late Model race. This opportunity arose again when he got to become his crew chief in 2023 at the North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Berry joined NASCAR in 2014 when he got to debut with Dale Earnhardt’s team, JR Motorsports at the Iowa Speedway in their no.5 car. He later on debuted in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2016 with Contreras Motorsports.
