The Triple Crown is an achievement more coveted than any other records in motorsports. Every driver aims to achieve is their lifetime and every year many drivers try to complete the triple crown. It is difficult to win in one prestigious motorsport event, but to achieve the same results in every Motorsports category is even more difficult.

The Triple Crown of Motorsports pertains to the three biggest Motorsports events, Formula 1, IndyCar and World Endurance Championship. Their best and most prestigious races make up the Triple Crown of Motorsports.

Triple Crown of Motorsports is the achievement for achieving a victory at the Indianapolis 500, Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of LeMans by any driver during their active career. Each of these events are of important value to the sport in their own way. Triple Crown is a way to celebrate these legendary events and keep their legacy alive.

It is highly difficult to achieve the triple crown of motorsports due to the stark contrast in the racing categories. Formula 1 and IndyCar have a difference of day and night due to the conditions they take place in. The World Endurance Championship is an entirely different zone because of its format and the vehicle being used.

The Fastest Triple Crown Winner

There has been only one winner of the original Triple Crown achievement in Motorsports. The fastest and only Triple Crown belongs to Graham Hill. Hill was a prominent Formula 1 driver who drove during the 1990s in Formula 1. He was a two-time world champion in the sport and later on moved to other categories to try out his luck. Graham Hill wanted to compete for the Triple Crown achievement and he won the Indianapolis 500 in 1966 after achieving several victories at Monaco.

THe Daytona International Speedway is a track that needs no introduction. It is one of the most sought after and a legendary track in America. Numerous motorsport events recognise Daytona as their best race-track and there is a lot of pomp and gala in these events. NASCAR's Daytona 500 is one example of the importance Daytona has in motorsports. Unfortunately, none of the Daytona events haven’t managed to become a part of the Triple Crown of Motorsports yet. They have special mentions in their respective categories, like the “Crown Jewel” race, Daytona 500 in NASCAR and the Endurance Championship “Triple Crown” event 24 hours of Daytona. Except these, Daytona hasn’t been added to the original list of Triple Crown events.
