David Cotterill Biography
David Cotterill is a footballer from Wales. He plays in the midfield in the Welsh national side as the winger. He is known for spending his time with clubs like Doncaster Rovers FC and Birmingham City. David has also played for top clubs in the EPL like Swansea City, Sheffield United, and Wigan Athletic.
The 5ft. 9 in. the winger was born on 4th December 1980 in Cardiff, Wales. He has represented the Welsh national side on the international side on 24 occasions and was able to find the net twice. He now plays for two time ISL Champions ATK in the ISL.
Background
Cotterill started playing youth soccer at Bristol City before he left to join Wigan Athletic in 2006.He has played for the Welsh national side at all level which includes the under 19, under 21 and now the senior team.
Debut
Cotterill started his career at Bristol City, as a substitute during a 0–0 draw with Colchester United on 30 October 2004. Cotterill joined the Premier League side Wigan Athletic on a three-year deal on 31st August 2006.
He made his debut in national colors in 2005. He has now played on 24 occasions and found the net twice.
High points
He played 57 games and scored seven goals for Bristol city during the 2005–06 season and was subsequently voted the City's Young Player of the Season. He scored ten goals in 49 appearances during the 2012–13 season, and he was named in the PFA Team of the Year for League One.
With his growing prowess and his ability to read the game situation well he soon established himself as a regular member of the starting eleven in the Birmingham city side and finished his first season with 9 goals from 45 appearances.
Low points
Despite scoring two goals in 24 games for the Wigan Athletic team in the FA Cup, he never fully established himself in the first team and was made available for loan. While his time while playing for Sheffield United, first team start opportunity was limited as Cortelli mostly sat on the bench.
