"Mother doesn't love you anymore": Maushold debut leads to hilarious Pokemon GO glitch

Pokemon GO's Ultra Unlock event has brought two new creatures from the Paldea region into the popular mobile game. Tandemaus and Maushold are two monsters that debuted in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, with Maushold even finding a place in the meta following its introduction.

However, with this creature coming into the game, there are bound to be a few bugs and issues related to it. One user on the Pokemon GO subreddit shared the report of another user who experienced a rendering issue with Maushold and its rare Family of Three form, saying:

"Mother doesn't love you anymore."

This visual bug is exclusive to the Family of Three variant. It would appear that Niantic might not have used separate models for the rare variant, as the creature that would make up the fourth in the Family of Four form can be seen standing away from its family. This has left many users feeling bad for this left-out child.

User TheSussiestPotato hopped on the opportunity to joke about the child being abandoned by its family. Given how Maushold's signature move, Population Bomb, from the main series, involves each member of the family throwing themselves at the opponent, it would be safe to assume that these smaller critters are not held in high regard by their larger parents.

Another user, cmtw91, provided users with a link to a page with more information regarding Pokemon GO's Ultra Unlock event, where Maushold and Tandemaus debut. They also included other details regarding the creature that players may find helpful if they want to add one to their collection.

Though the issue is clearly a visual bug, many users seem to appreciate the comedy the occasional rendering issue can provide. However, what causes this issue to occur is unclear. It could be possible that the model for each form of Maushold in Pokemon GO is identical, with the extra child being hidden for the Family of Three variant.

As Maushold's Family of Three form does not have this specific bug in the main series, the issue must have come from Niantic, rather than the models they receive from Game Freak. Still, while it is unusual for this visual bug to be present in Pokemon GO, it does not seem to intrude on gameplay and is ultimately harmless.

For players wanting a Maushold of their own, it would help to know how they can effectively farm Tandemaus for the required candies. During the Ultra Unlock event, Tandemaus can be encountered by completing Field Research tasks and the quests trainers can receive when using Party Play.

It should also be noted that these creatures cannot appear in their shiny variants as of this writing, so trainers should not bother trying to catch the ultra-rare version.
