Carl Grimes dies from a walker bite in season eight of The Walking Dead.

In season 8 of The Walking Dead, Carl Grimes passed away. He dies from a walker bite, which the young hero unluckily receives after assisting Siddiq in paying tribute to his mother by killing walkers in the hopes that their souls would be freed.

The fatal bite is not immediately apparent to the viewer, despite the fact that the expression on his face when it occurs makes it obvious that something is wrong. In the midseason finale of S08E08, "How it's Gotta Be," audiences learn the answer when a noticeably frail Carl diverts the Saviors and defends the Alexandrians. We see the walker bite on his abdomen when Rick and Michonne come back.

It turns out that Carl spent his last day writing letters to the people he cared about, sharing his hopes and dreams for the future and the end of the conflict with the Saviors. He wished Negan could have the same. In the midseason premiere of S08E09, "Honor," Carl dies after sincerely expressing his love for his father Rick, stepmother Michonne, and sister Judith.

Carl was a key player in bringing an end to the conflict because he succeeded in persuading Rick and Negan that there was a better way to live—a peaceful one.

Who is Carl Grimes?

In AMC's The Walking Dead, Carl Grimes served as both the deuteragonist and a survivor of the outbreak. He is the half-brother of Judith Grimes and R.J. Grimes and the son of Rick and Lori Grimes. Carl and his mother accompanied Shane Walsh on his journey to Atlanta and the refugee camp during the initial outbreak because Carl thought his father had passed away.

Carl gradually hardens over time as a result of the severe loss of life and his surroundings. His willingness to help and defend those he cares about has been demonstrated, especially for Michonne Hawthorne, a fellow survivor whom he views as a mother figure and his best friend. He meets fellow teen survivor Enid after arriving at the Alexandria Safe Zone.

After Enid moves to the Hilltop Colony, their friendship eventually develops into a relationship, though it becomes a little tense and unsure. Carl thinks about the future of the communities while fighting Negan and the Saviors. After performing a final act of selflessness by saving a stranger, Carl leaves a legacy for his family and friends that encourages them to improve the world and concentrate on reestablishing civilization. After playing such important roles, Carl ultimately dies in season eight of the series from a walker bite.

Who portrayed Carl Grimes in The Walking Dead?

Carl Grimes is a fictional character from the post-apocalyptic horror series The Walking Dead, portrayed by Chandler Riggs.

The Walking Dead, an AMC horror-drama television series based on the same-named comic book series, featured Chandler Carlton Riggs (born June 27, 1999) on a regular basis as Carl Grimes from 2010 to 2018. Riggs received three Saturn Awards and a Young Artist Award for his work on the series.

The movies Get Low (2009), Mercy (2014), Keep Watching (2017), Only (2019), and Inherit the Viper (2019) all feature Riggs. Under the alias Eclipse, Riggs began putting out electronic music in the latter part of 2017. He started appearing on the ABC drama series "A Million Little Things" at the beginning of 2019.

Riggs received his biggest role to date at the age of 10 in 2010 as Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead. On The Wronged Man, Riggs and the series' executive producer, Gale Anne Hurd, previously collaborated. When his character was controversially killed off halfway through the eighth season of The Walking Dead, a dramatic departure from the comic book source material, Riggs was fired from the show in late 2017. On February 10, 2018, the series' 77th and final episode, starring Riggs, aired.

How did Carl Grimes lose his eye?

In The Walking Dead season six, Rick's plan is derailed by an attack by the Wolves, a rabid group that preys on human settlements. Walkers flood in after the Alexandria wall is breached. As Carl, Judith, Gabriel, Deanna Monroe, Jessie Anderson, and her two sons, Ron and Sam, try to flee to an upper floor of a house, Rick and Michonne rush back to the neighborhood to help defend it. Sam and Deanna are killed while attempting to flee, which infuriates Ron, who shoots Carl in the eye before Michonne kills him.

Carl is rushed to safety, and eventually Rick and his allies clear out the walkers. Over the next several months, Alexandria resecures its walls. Carl loses an eye but is otherwise unharmed.

In the original comics, Carl is shot in the face during a zombie attack, losing his right eye and falling into a coma for weeks. When he awakens and is once more cared for by Rick, he displays a much more pessimistic outlook and lashes out at his father for all the terrible things that have occurred as a result of him.
