Amazon Music is a music streaming service and online music store operated by Amazon. On September 25, 2007, it became the first music store to sell music without DRM from the four major music labels (EMI, Universal, Warner, and Sony BMG) as well as many independents. In January 2008, it went public with a beta version.

All tracks were originally sold in MP3 format without DRM or watermarking. Some tracks are now watermarked. Licensing agreements with recording companies restrict the availability of the music to certain countries.

In the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, Amazon MP3 was launched on December 3, 2008, April 1, 2009, and June 10, 2009, respectively. Since December 3, 2009, the German edition has been available in Austria and Switzerland. The Amazon MP3 store was launched in Japan in November 2010. On October 4, 2012, the Italian and Spanish editions were launched. The Mexican edition was announced on November 7, 2018.
