Adam22 recently shared his opinion about Young Thug allegedly dissing Kendrick Lamar for turning down a chance to collaborate. For the unversed, several recordings of Young Thug's alleged phone calls from his time in prison were leaked on social media on August 29, 2025. In the leaked recordings, the Atlanta emcee allegedly made remarks about fellow rappers like Gunna, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar.

In one particular snippet, a voice (presumed to be Young Thug) can be heard expressing his frustrations at Lamar allegedly declining to feature on one of his albums, presumably his 2023 LP Business Is Business.

“These n***as too big, like ‘I ain’t doing no features,’ why? Why wouldn’t you wanna do a feature for a superstar...It ain't like Strick calling you for a song. You really got Lil Durk for a song. Lil Baby, Thug, real superstars calling you for a song. Why wouldn't you do the song?" Thug allegedly said.

During a recent episode of the No Jumper podcast, which aired on September 3, 2025, Adam22 and his fellow podcast hosts discussed the alleged shade. Adam compared Lamar and Young Thug's career strategies, adding that while the former preferred to remain in the shadows and "pop out" only when it matters, the latter constantly released new music and collaborated with several artists.

"Kendrick is doing something in which he's trying to make himself as scarce as possible so that when he does pop out, it matters. And he's always been a master at that. Thug is the opposite of that. Thug has had a bit of a hard time managing that because he drops all the time, and he does features with whoever," Adam said.

He continued:

"Even in that right there, I feel like that is kind of a mask off moment, because you're realizing that Young Thug, who acts like he's so much better than everything and above everything, he's still thinking about Instagram likes."

Adam added that Young Thug was right in thinking that Kendrick Lamar "needs to be doing stuff" like featuring on other rappers' projects, which could be a "good look" for the Compton rapper.

But he also addressed the situation from Lamar's viewpoint, claiming that a feature with artists like Lil Baby or Young Thug would not have been the best move for the Compton emcee. However, Adam added that Lamar's recent collaboration on Playboi Carti's 2025 album Music was the "best thing that he could have done outside of dissing Drake."

Young Thug claimed Kendrick Lamar "will never be bigger" than Drake

According to HipHop DX, Young Thug allegedly called out Kendrick Lamar for not helping out fellow rappers by collaborating with them on an alleged leaked prison phone call. Furthermore, he seemingly drew comparisons between Lamar and Drake, claiming that the latter changed rappers' lives and alleging that Lamar could never outshine the Canadian emcee.

"You supposed to be a n***a who bless a n***as. That's why them n***as will never be bigger than Drake, ever in life. They'll never be bigger than Buddy. Buddy gonna do it right. Buddy f**k with everybody. You know many n***a lives Drake changed?" he said.

Thug allegedly continued:

"How many n***as can take care of their families because of Buddy? Kendrick, goddamn, put a n***a on. You're a superstar. You done ran up a few hundred M's, but you ain't put nobody on though. You ain't even put Keem on," Thug allegedly said.

Adam22 also addressed this in the recent No Jumper podcast episode. He theorized that Drake would have felt validated by Thug coming to his support if this scenario had happened six months ago, referencing Thug's ongoing snitching controversy.

This is not the only instance of Young Thug supporting Drake in recent times. During his April 2025 interview with GQ Magazine, Thug responded to Kendrick Lamar questioning Drake's ties to him and other Atlanta rappers in Not Like Us, saying:

In other news, Young Thug found himself in the middle of a snitching controversy after a two-hour video of his alleged police interrogation, where he seemingly mentioned Peewee Roscoe, resurfaced online on August 27, 2025.

Notably, Thug has been vocal about his dislike for snitches or rats. In a recent X post uploaded in July, he wrote that rappers who were "rats" should make "gospel" music.

Additionally, the rapper called out a "rat" on his April track Money on Money featuring Future, rapping, “Brother, you a rat (My brother)” and “Twin, you a rat, you smoked, uh.” While many believed the diss was aimed at Gunna, Thug has not confirmed the same as of this article.
