Survivor fans, get ready for the highly anticipated Season 45! As Survivor Season 44 approaches its conclusion, it's time to shift your attention to the upcoming installment of this Emmy-winning reality series. While details have been gradually emerging, what we already know about Season 45 promises an exciting and captivating season.

While CBS has renewed Survivor for Season 45, the exact premiere date has yet to be announced. Based on previous seasons, we can expect a September premiere, most likely lasting two hours. Excitement builds as the countdown begins for the next thrilling chapter in the Survivor saga.

Survivor season 45: Cast, Premiere and Filming

The exact premiere date of Survivor season 45 is yet to be announced. If it follows the schedule of previous seasons, we can anticipate the grand finale to take place sometime in mid-December. As for the filming schedule, it remains unknown whether Season 45 will return to the traditional 39-day format or continue with the 26-day duration characteristic of the "new era."

One of the most thrilling aspects of Survivor Season 45 is the rumored return of Season 44 contestant Bruce Perreault. Bruce, unfortunately, had to be evacuated from the game after sustaining a head injury during the first challenge of Season 44. However, host and showrunner Jeff Probst revealed on the On Fire With Jeff Probst podcast that Bruce received an open invitation to join a future season. And now, it seems that the invitation is being fulfilled.

The news of Bruce's participation in Season 45 was first disclosed in an Inside Survivor article by Martin Holmes, widely known as "Redmond" in Survivor social media communities. Redmond, a reliable insider who has accurately leaked cast and format information for nearly a decade, announced that Bruce will be the sole returning player in the 18-player cast of Season 45. Redmond also mentioned that the season will continue with the new era format of three starting tribes. Inside Survivor has also released a list of rumored Survivor 45 cast, which includes people from all different walks of life.

Introduction of 90-Minute Episodes for Survivor season 45

In a historic move, Survivor Season 45 will introduce 90-minute episodes. From 8:00-9:30, viewers can immerse themselves in extended episodes, offering even more captivating gameplay, strategic alliances, and gripping challenges. This marks the first time the series will regularly exceed its traditional 60-minute runtime, heightening the intensity of each episode.

These extended episodes will be included in the network's 2023 fall schedule. The move may be an effort to mitigate the effects of the WGA writer's strike, as it coincides with The Amazing Race's decision to adopt 90-minute episodes for its upcoming season as well.

While information about Survivor Season 45 remains limited at this time, it is reasonable to expect that the season will largely adhere to the new era structure. We can anticipate an on-island aftershow instead of a live reunion, along with other unique characteristics of the new era Survivor. With the show's format remaining relatively rigid since Season 41, it would be exciting to see some tweaks to keep the game from becoming too predictable.

While we wait for season 45, catch the Survivor season 44 as it's been releasing final regular episodes this past week with only five contestants remaining Yam Yam Arocho, Carson Garett, Lauren Harpe, Carolyn Wiger, and Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt. Day by day, the show is approaching a three-hour finale and a reunion so tune in to CBS on Wednesdays at 8 pm EST.
