In the video games "Destiny" and "Destiny 2," which were released in 2014 and 2017 respectively, Lance Reddick provided the voice for the character Commander Zavala.

Reddick has provided both his distinctive voice and likeness to numerous video games throughout his career. The first was "50 Cent: Blood on the Sand," a 2009 video game in which he voiced Derek Carter. Later, in 2014, he made his debut in "Destiny" as Commander Zavala, a role he has since returned to in numerous other installments of the franchise.

Reddick, who played Martin Hatch in "Quantum Break," also provided motion capture and full motion video footage. "Payday 2," "John Wick Hex," "Horizon Zero Dawn," and its follow-up, "Horizon Forbidden West," are a few of his other video game credits. Following Lance Reddick's sudden death at the age of 60, messages of love, admiration, and grief flooded the internet. Players of “Destiny” struggled with the loss of the main character in their fictional world. The “John Wick 4” and “Bosch” actor wasn't just the voice of “Destiny 2”'s Zavala; as shown by some of his last interactions online, he was a huge fan and player like everyone else.

The night before Reddick passed away last week from natural causes, his “Destiny 2” handle, idontcare789#7678, appeared online, as quickly noticed by players. The last tweet liked by the actor also came from a fan making jokes about the game's stoic commander, Zavala. Reddick had completed the majority of the new Lightfall campaign and was down to his final boss battle with Calus. Even Destiny players were mentioned in a tweet that his wife, Stephanie Reddick, posted on his Twitter account. She wrote, "Lance loved the game as much as he loved you."

The drama featured him as the third of five "Oz" actors from the HBO series. Reddick was considered for the role of Mr. Eko by "Lost" producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, but he was preoccupied with "The Wire" filming.

This character is "a real hard-ass, but he's also one of the good guys," according to Reddick.
