On 25 May, All Elite Wrestling presented its first show, Double Or Nothing, that emanated from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The show received tons of praise from fans and wrestling personalities, courtesy a packed card, an intense brawl between Cody Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes, and the shocking debut of Jon Moxley.

The show also saw Hangman Page become the #1 contender for the AEW World title by winning the Casino Battle Royale. The main event of the night ended with Chris Jericho defeating longtime nemesis, Kenny Omega, to earn a shot at the title.

AEW's next big show, All Out, is almost on the horizon. It will take place at the Sears Centre Arena in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, on August 31, 2019. Fans of the promotion have been speculating on who would end up becoming the first-ever AEW World Champion. Here are 5 reasons why Chris Jericho should be the one to get this honor.

#5 Another accomplishment Chris Jericho can boast about

Jericho is a WWE Grand Slam winner and the first Undisputed WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He did the same by defeating The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in one night and has been reminding the fans of this incredible feat ever since then. The entirety of Jericho's WWE career saw him mention this achievement on several occasions and receive great heel heat.

Jericho becoming the first-ever AEW World Champion will only give him another achievement to boast of, and he will make sure to remind the fans about it for years to come.

This will add another interesting layer to his heel character down the line, and the ones who defeat him in the future would benefit from the fact that they have put down the first-ever AEW World Champion.

#4 Jericho knows how to turn eyes and promote the company

Is anyone more deserving of becoming the first AEW World Champion than Chris Jericho? Ever since he signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling, Jericho has been promoting the company on all of his social media handles, in his unique heelish manner.

Be it the success of Double Or Nothing, or AEW's 'All Out' selling out in 15 minutes, Jericho has made it a point to remind the fans that all this has been made possible due to his presence in the company.

Over the past several months, Jericho has worked incredibly hard to promote the company, as well as himself. His words on social media and interviews will carry more weight once he becomes the first AEW World Champion.

#3 It will look good in the record books, years down the line

When pro-wrestling fans dive down memory lane, they find that every major company has a rich history. Once a company comes on the map, it makes sure to give the first title reign to someone who has accomplished a lot in the past and will be remembered as one of the all-time greats.

The legendary Lou Thesz was the first NWA Heavyweight Champion, while Buddy Rogers was the first WWE Champion. When WCW separated itself from NWA, Ric Flair was its first Champion.

It's only fitting that AEW makes Jericho its first Champion. It will look good in the record books down the line, as Jericho is a legend in his own right and no one can take that away from him.

#2 Let Hangman Page develop a bit more

On one hand, you have a guaranteed future WWE Hall of Famer and someone who will be remembered as one of the greatest Superstars in the history of pro-wrestling. Next, there's Hangman Page who is still a young gun at 28-years old and has a long way to go.

Giving the World Title to Jericho will help Page in the sense that he will be pushed to become a strong contender for Jericho's title. When he finally wins the title at some point, it will be a big moment that fans would go bananas over.

Defeating Jericho would immediately turn him into one of the biggest stars in the industry. All AEW needs to do is build him up a bit more, before handing him the top prize.

#1 Incredible star power

It's clear as day: Chris Jericho comes with a lot of star power and he isn't wrong when he continuously talks about being responsible for AEW's popularity. The company consists of a large crop of talented athletes, but none is as popular as Jericho.

He has over two decades of rich history behind his Hall of Fame career, and that's the biggest reason why AEW should make him its first-ever World Champion.

Jericho winning the title is bound to be a way bigger deal than Page's win ever would. It would also give rise to a string of matchups against the top faces of the company and a heel Jericho.
