5 most non-charismatic performers on WWE TV today

Tamina has a lot to learn

Two of the most charismatic performers in WWE history – Chris Jericho and EdgeWhat makes a WWE Superstar successful? Is it size? Well, then how come guys like Nathan Jones and Matt Morgan failed to win a title in the company and Rey Mysterio became a multiple time world champion. Is it athleticism? Hmm, Naomi has never won a Divas title yet despite being billed the most athletic Diva in the WWE today.Well, the answer is charisma.Neither Chris Jericho nor Edge were the biggest of wrestlers, but they have a combined 55 titles between them in the WWE – that is 55 times the number of titles the Great Khali and Giant Gonazalez have won in the company. This list looks at the five most non-charismatic performers in the WWE today.

#1 Tamina

Tamina has a lot to learn

The list opens with the most non-charismatic Diva on the roster, Tamina Snuka. Daughter of one of the most exciting superstars to ever step foot inside the WWE – Superfly Jimmy Snuka – Tamina hasn’t exactly set the Divas division on fire.

Debuting in 2010 along with the Usos, Tamina has gone on to have different alliances including the likes of Santino Marella, Vickie Guerrero and A J Lee before ending up as one-third of Team B.A.D. She almost never speaks on T.V and has been completely overshadowed by Sasha Banks and to a lesser extent, Naomi in the stable.

Team B.A.D’s attempts to become the New Day of the women’s division fell flat recently with a cringe-worthy promo and Tamina wasn’t even trusted to utter a single word during the same.

There might still be hope for Tamina as Chyna too started out in the same mould, but it remains to be seen whether Tamina can develop the charisma that ‘The Ninth Wonder of the World’ developed.

Until then, Tamina will remain in her role as the mute enforcer.

#2 Titus O\'Neil

Titus O’Neil is not going to be taken seriously by the fans anytime soon

Triple H might be trying his best to push him, but Titus O’Neil just hasn’t got the charisma to go over. At 6’6 270 pounds, O’Neil is the ideal build for the perfect WWE Superstar. However, he lacks the mic skill to truly connect with the fans.

The Prime Time Players initially got some sort of traction only after O’Neil’s partner Darren Young came out. True, PTP did have a reign as the tag team champions, but it has been nothing more than a failed experiment.

Some of the worst work on commentary in 2015 were heard when O’Neil and Young showed up for guest commentary during their opponent’s matches. O’Neil’s promos with the usually reliable Stardust has also been lame.

The bottom line is that the former footballer just hasn’t got the ‘IT factor’

#3 Summer Rae

Summer Rae hasn’t had an interesting angle yet in the WWE

Summer Rae has got every physical attribute a WWE Diva would need – she is beautiful, has the perfect body and is not a slouch in the ring either. However, it is the story telling part of Pro wrestling where she has fallen flat.

None of her promos have conviction and it is really difficult to believe in anything she says. She just comes out as a bad actor who reads out the lines given to her. Compare her mic work to someone like Paige or AJ Lee and the results are quite obvious.

Summer has had numerous gimmicks and none has worked out for an extended period save her dancer gimmick with Fandango. Alliances with the Miz, Damien Sandow, Rusev and now Tyler Breeze have all ended in disappointments.

Not to mention her part in the horrible rectangle love story angle t with Dolph Ziggler, Lana and Rusev that had TV audience scrambling for their remotes anytime a segment involving her came up on TV.

#4 Erick Rowan

Eric Rowan has as much charisma as a scarecrow

Erick Rowan was the one to go face after the Wyatt family split last year.

However, fans didn’t have any interest in the sheep mask wielding monster of a man and he was soon left in the wilderness, unlike his former partner Luke Harper who went on to taste Intercontinental gold.

The few times that Rowan has had mic time has not done anything good for his career and it is really hard for the WWE fans to care about Rowan without a change in his persona.

Rowan has recently come back to the Wyatt family stable probably because the WWE Creative realised that he does not have the charisma to make it on his own.

#5 Zeb Colter

It will only be to Alberto Del Rio’s advantage that Mexamerica broke up

The former Dutch Mantel has had a fairly successful career wrestling in various territories and also helped shape the early careers of Superstars like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Kane.

However, Zeb Colter’s on screen persona after his return to the WWE has been downright boring.

Colter’s xenophobic shtick didn’t do any favours to the careers of Cesaro or Jack Swagger and the WWE Creative has been quite right in breaking Alberto Del Rio away from Colter’s grip.

Colter’s wild rants as part of his promos didn’t create any buzz at all and he was verbally thrashed by Paul Heyman during the fight over Cesaro’s ownership that took place on Raw over two years ago. The anti-immigrant persona might attract a few American fans sparked by over the top patriotic behaviour, but it was never going to win over true wrestling fans.

Sorry Zeb, just verbal diarrhea doesn’t make you charismatic.
