5 reasons why Daniel Bryan will quit WWE like CM Punk

CM Punk shocked the entire wrestling community when he walked out of the WWE last year. A lot of rumors were making rounds about his motives of doing so but the air only cleared out when Punk appeared in Colt Cabana’s podcast. He pointed out the ill-treatment of WWE as the reason for his exit and though it is a bit early to say, Daniel Bryan might be travelling a similar path. The flying goat might currently be in course for another WrestleMania main event but that doesn’t confirm his happiness. There are a lot of indicators that suggest Bryan will follow Punk’s path to quit WWE and here is a rundown on those reasons.

#5 He is a wrestler not a sports entertainer

There is a big difference between WWE and promotions like Ring of Honor. The latter delivers some good old wrestling for their fans while WWE is just putting together a humorous soap opera for families.

It might not be a big difference for some fans out there but as far as the wrestlers are concerned, it is a paramount problem. Wrestlers like Daniel Bryan enter into the business with the dream of wrestling and not for playing some kind of goofy character written by Hollywood dropouts.

WWE is a company that gets sports entertainers to the top while wrestlers like Bryan would be stuck with the realization of not being wanted unless the fans revolt.

#4 Lack of Character direction

We’ve seen a heel Daniel Bryan, We’ve seen a face Daniel Bryan and, to be frank, he is a character deadlock at the moment. Bryan is so over with the fans at the moment that no one will accept him turning heel.

A face Bryan does not have any new challenges as well. He won the WWE Championship and headlined WrestleMania. There are some potential feuds that he might have in the future but then again, he has already touched the ceiling.

A sense of ‘done it all’ feeling will surely coarse through Bryan in the near future and it will be then when he will decide to take a new route in his career.

#3 WWEs hesitant booking

Punk’s main problem with the WWE was the way he was booked. He never made it to the WrestleMania main event and the management always favored someone over him. Bryan has been going through the same phase after his return.

He went out as champion and when he came back, the company did not even bother giving him a match for the championship. Instead he was put into the Royal Rumble match from which he was eliminated with one third of the entrants still to enter.

The booking of Bryan is still going weak despite his opportunity at Fast Lane and if the company decides to put over Roman Reigns at the pay-per-view, then it could be the final nail.

#2 Vince McMahons lack of faith

Daniel Bryan is not the typical superstar that Vince McMahon likes. Bryan does not have the microphone skills or the looks to be the poster boy of WWE. In short, he is just a wrestler.

The reason for Vince backing names like John Cena, Roman Reigns and The Rock is their bankability. These men act as the prototype for anyone who wants to make it big in the company and Bryan is nowhere near those measurements.

He is a bearded shabby man who wrestles exceptionally well, Chris Benoit was similar. Though he was respected all around the world for his wrestling, Benoit never became the lone face of WWE same will happen with Bryan as Vince does not see him as a potential poster boy.

#1 Injuries and Surgeries

If all the above reasons are not good enough, this is the game changer. Bryan was having a fairy tale run after his WrestleMania win last year but all that came crashing down thanks to an injury he suffered.

Bryan was forced to go under the knife for the same, but it didn’t end there. The doctors initially suggested Bryan to take another surgery but later dropped the suggestion since they were not sure about what his problem was.

It is a dangerous situation for a professional wrestler as a false move could end up in tragedy. CM Punk showcased a staph infection as his reason to walk out of WWE, but Bryan has a more serious issue in his hands since every match he wrestles in could be his last.
