5 ways in which Undertaker can get involved at 2015 Battleground

Damien Sandow

Dean Ambrose and UndertakerThe hype surrounding Battleground went to a different level with the rumoured return of Undertaker. The Phenom has been keeping his distance from the WWE Universe since his WrestleMania appearance and it is going to be chaotic if he appears at Battleground on Sunday. Taker appearing at the pay-per-view is sure to make headlines and will get WWE some publicity ahead of SummerSlam. But Undertaker appearing without a motive would be a complete waste of time. WWE will have to come up with a strong narrative for the Phenom and they have some options as well. So here is a look at the possible ways in which Undertaker could be associated with the 2015 edition of Battleground.

#6 (dis) Honourable Mention: Swerved

Damien Sandow

WWE is famous for its habit of pulling offpranks. They might just make Damien Sandow dress up as Undertaker and make a fool out of everyone. This is if Undertaker is not going to appear at Battleground.

If Undertaker is to show up, then it could also be on the big screen, It could be a pre-recorded promo or a simple tease of his appearance. This way, WWE could attract eyeballs to Monday Night Raw, which is what they want at this moment of time.

#5 Teaching the disrespectful brat a lesson

Kevin Owens

The United States Title picture is getting a bit crowded right now. With Cesaro and Rusev introduced, it would be the best time for Owens to find something new. And what if Owens sets up a match with Undertaker at SummerSlam?

There is a handful of possibilities in which WWE could set up this match. First of all, Taker could just play the locker room leader that he is and rescue John Cena while he is punished by Owens. Alternatively, Owens could just call out any legend after he loses his match against Cena. No matter which path WWE chooses, this has the potential to be a great feud since Owens is the closest thing that WWE has to CM Punk now.

#4 Lunatic Fringe makes a statement

Dean Ambrose and The Undertaker

Almost a month back, Dean Ambrose was challenging for the WWE Championship. Fast forward to the present, and he is not even booked for Battleground. There is obviously going to be a lot of frustration in the mind of Ambrose making him a volcano waiting to explode.

Enter The Undertaker.

The Phenom could just come down and tease a big announcement. However, before Taker finishes, Dean Ambrose could come down the ring and take him out. It would be a great heel turn and would set up a match between the two perfectly for SummerSlam. With the heel brilliance that Dean has, this one is going to be one of the best feuds of the year.

#3 For his Baby Brother

Undertaker could avenge Kane

It's been more than two years since Brock Lesnar broke Undertaker's WrestleMania streak. So Undertaker going after Lesnar for the same would sound idiotic. However, WWE crashed open a new door for the Undertaker - Lesnar saga at last week's Monday night Raw.

Paul Heyman mentioned about Kane being Undertaker's baby brother. The same baby brother was taken out by Lesnar later that night. Taker returning at Battleground to avenge his brother would make sense. Also, Taker has an unsettled score with the Beast, adding more fuel to the angle. So Taker will just have to show up and cost Lesnar the WWE Championship match.

#2 One last Title run

A last title run?

This is actually an alternative to the previous possibility. Brock Lesnar is all set to go up against Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship. If Lesnar is scheduled to win the WWE Championship, then WWE could execute the following angle.

When Lesnar is celebrating his WWE championship win, Undertaker could show up and point at the gold. It would be an excellent ending to the pay-per-view and would leave the fans begging for more. Taker hasn’t been in the WWE title scene for ages and it would also be an unexpected twist in the tale. A SummerSlam match between Brock Lesnar and Undertaker for the WWE Championship is a main event worth waiting for.

#1 Paving path for the dream feud

Sting vs. Undertaker

While most of us are excited about the possibility of seeing Undertaker at Battleground, we are forgetting about the other possibilities. There are some big names that could show up at the pay-per-view and one among the list is Sting.

Now, everyone wanted to see a match between Sting and Undertaker at WrestleMania. But it is too late for the match to happen. At this point of their careers, both superstars cannot afford a loss at Mania. This calls for an alternative and SummerSlam might just be the place.

Remember the time when Triple H and Undertaker made returns at the same night and started a feud? WWE could do something similar at Battleground with Sting and Undertaker. A match at SummerSlam between these two legends will make the fans mark out.
