WWE Extreme Rules 2014: 5 Best for Business Moves that WWE should make

Extreme Rules is just a whisker away and the fans have already started to dream about the scenarios that are going to make the pay-per-view a successful one.WWE sure raised some eyebrows in their last pay-per-view installment which didnt sit well with the fans. though it was a good thing, no one wanted Brock Lesnar to defeat Undertakers streak and WWE sure has a lot of ground to make up for stumbling on that. The company picked up well on the Raw after WrestleMania however, and kept the momentum going till now. They would have to keep the legs on the accelerator at Extreme Rules as well if they are to continue that run, so lets take a look at some things that should happen at Extreme Rules which will be best for business decisions.

#5 Paige breaking out of her underdog style

The reason why Paige became so successful in NXT was due to the in-ring style and the Anti-Diva gimmick that she had.

When she got into the main roster, what the fans wanted to see was the same Paige who would’ve cleansed the “Total Divas” division. But instead what WWE gave us was a girl who struggled throughout the match with her opponents to break out and win in the last moment.

And when it came against opponents who were nowhere near Paige in-ring caliber, the fans realized that she is getting some ill booking.

If WWE is to make Paige the next big thing in the Divas division they would have to lose this image and let her be herself. Some great mic work and her regular in-ring style is something that the fans will love and could set her up well for a returning AJ Lee.

#4 Bad News Barrett winning the Intercontinental championship

The tournament that WWE put up for determining the No.1 contender for Intercontinental championship hit the bulls eye.

It certainly raised the stakes for the title since the superstars put up some exciting matches in order to reach where we are. And despite having names like Cesaro and Sheamus on the list, the final will be contested between Bad News Barrett and Rob Van Dam which is a good way to put Barrett over.

He is someone who is of main event caliber and since that area is a bit crowded at the moment the next best thing that the WWE could give him will be the intercontinental title.

Big E has nothing left in him tank for the title, while Barrett could be a mouth rattling Intercontinental champion who can give a fresh feeling for everyone.

#3 Cesaro burying the Jack Swagger feud

The WrestleMania week was a big career changer for Cesaro. First he broke up with his tag team partner Jack Swagger and later that night he went on to win the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal as well.

Following night, we saw another big twist when Paul Heyman revealed Cesaro as his new client. Cesaro looked destined for greatness under the wings of Paul Heyman and the intercontinental tournament sounded like the first step.

But it didn’t happen as Cesaro was knocked out due to some interference of Swagger. From the looks of it Cesaro and Swagger may go head to head in some gimmick match at Extreme Rules or even we could see a tag team match with Heyman and Cesaro on one side and Swagger and Zeb Colter on the other.

Though Heyman and Colter has interesting confrontations on the mic, Extreme Rules should be the end of that feud as Cesaro has much more places to explore. Swagger could find a new partner and go back into the tag team division which won’t hurt anyone.

#2 Evolution winning against Shield

The prospect of Evolution going against Shield is a best for business deal on various levels. The past and future clashing on the ring is more than enough to keep the fans rooted to their seats.

But what WWE should make sure is that, they do not throw it out as a one match affair.

And in order to do that, WWE will have to make Evolution get on over Shield. At the same time the win shouldn’t be a fair one as well.

Evolution could get one over Shield in a cheap way or with some members of the Shield turning will be an ideal way to extend the war between the factions. Clearly there is a lot that the two teams could do for eachother and WWE could make a lot of money from this.

Shield not winning will make the fans root more for them and hate Evolution which will eventually end in a big pop when Shield finally wins.

#1 Bray Wyatt winning fair and square against John Cena

When WWE first threw up the idea of the feud between Cena and Bray Wyatt, the whole WWE universe were excited as it was a chance to see someone like Bray getting the better of Cena.

It did happen as Bray simply outclassed Cena in the microphone and his mind games proved to be a big hit with the fans. And as they headed for their clash at WrestleMania, what everyone wanted was Bray to get a win over Cena and establish himself as a top tier guy.

But it didn’t happen as Cena got a clean win against Bray Wyatt. At Extreme Rules, if the WWE is going to repeat what they did in at WrestleMania that might be the end of Bray Wyatt as a character.

He will be nothing more than a loud mouth that couldn’t live up to his words which is not something that the company would want which someone of his talent.

Though, this match might not main event Extreme Rules, the outcome of this will have a big impact of the future of WWE and for that Bray needs to win and nothing less will make the fans happy.
