WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 19 May, 2014

Vince McMahon went from billionaire to millionaire last week which once again showed the fans that a lot can change in the span of a week. With such financial problems striking, this week WWE will be looking to stand up with a Raw that might make headlines. Daniel Bryan’s injury has given some spotlight to the other main storylines in the company. They also managed to make a couple of matches for Payback out of the blue but a lot of questions are still yet to be answered which makes this week’s Raw pretty interesting. From the history of WWE we know that they’re best comes from desperation so let’s take a look at some things which might go down when Monday night comes.

#5 Divas fighting over ugly painting

When Paige got the title away from AJ Lee, the fans expected that the Divas division is going to have some sort of resurrection under the new champion.

From the matches that Paige had, it certainly suggested the same but instead of complimenting her efforts with ample competition, what WWE decided was to let the most talented diva in the division fight out with John Cena’s girlfriend over an ugly painting.

It was a cheap effort from the company to extend the Total Divas storyline to the main roster and it certainly made the fans disappointed.

So the question which now remains in front of WWE is, are they going to continues throwing up such meaningless matches and destroy the potential that still remains unexplored.

#4 Battle between the patriots

It was clearly a disappointing week for the midcard last time around as the only development that came from there was the friction between Alexandre Rusev and Big E.

R-Truth and Xavier Woods to Big E was a big stride for Rusev and WWE decided to play up the patriotism card as well which made things interesting. Jim Duggan played the supporting role well which further increased the depth of the feud.

While WWE is yet to find credible challengers for mid card title, this is one storyline that they could get the fans invested when it comes to the midcard. Big E and Rusev are impressive powerhouses in the ring, so watch out when they finally lock horns.

#3 Hulkamania in town

One of the desperate moves that WWE will be doing to revive their stocks this week will be the appearance of Hulk Hogan. There are strong reports about WWE dragging Hogan back into television to let the fans forget about what is happening all around and boost their ticket sales.

Though Hogan is likely to appear the problem with this will be in what capacity. The fans clearly wouldn’t want him to come and give a pointless promo about the Network because they have already seen that a lot of times before WrestleMania.

The writers will have to find some sort of storyline for the legend and keeping him on television regularly might be WWE’s way to save themselves. According to the rumors, Hogan is going to appear both in Raw and SmackDown so the hopes of him getting a storyline are high.

#2 To and Fro or something new?

Daniel Bryan’s injury has given the Shield- Evolution and Bray Wyatt- John Cena storylines more importance in the company.

However, since these two feuds have already gone through one pay-per-view the writers are having a tough time making it look less repetitive.

The Shield-Evolution storyline especially is just doing the same things over and over without something new.

One week Evolution gets the upper hand and next week it’s the Shield and so on. Something new has to be given to the fans this time around if the company has to build up to the match at Payback properly since the match is sure to be a cracker.

#1 Big Announcement about WWE championship

The biggest question mark that was left after Daniel Bryan picked up the injury was about the future of the WWE championship.

If Bryan is out for a long time, WWE will be forced to take the title away from him much to the disappointment of the fans and Bryan. However there is still a slight chance of the title being around his waist provided that he returns soon.

The fog of confusion surrounding the whole dilemma is going to be sorted out this week on Raw as there is going to be a big announcement on the future of the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Kane might be crowned as the new champion or Bryan could make a surprise return from the looks of it.

For the time being its only rumors taking rounds but once Raw starts off it will be more clear so making this one of the most important editions in recent history.
