WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 4 January 2015

Is he going to get a new girlfriend?

The special guest refereeThe first Monday Night Raw of 2016 is just hours away. WWE will be eager to kick off the year with a bang and they booked a big main event for the same. Roman Reigns will be defending his championship against Sheamus on this week’s Raw and the extra added attraction to the match is Vince McMahon. He will be the special guest referee, which means that we are bound to see some dramatic ending to the episode. Apart from this exciting main event, there are things that need to be sorted out in the mid-card as well. Here is a look at these potential plots that WWE might touch on this week of RAW.

#5 Could we see an NXT call up?

Is he going to get a new girlfriend?

The pairing of Tyler Breeze and Summer Rae initially felt good. Summer did not have any major angle during the time and it was a good way to introduce Breeze into the main roster. Last week, WWE made it clear that the relationship was going to take a twisty turn.

The couple looks all set to officially break up and this is not something that would interest the fans.

However, this opens up the door for another NXT call up. WWE could bring in someone from NXT as Breeze’s new girlfriend, or they could bring in someone from NXT as Summer’s new boyfriend.

Either way, if WWE pulls off such an angle, we could get to see the debut of an NXT star on Raw.

#4 Lost droplets in the sea

The fans are firmly behind Sasha

The divas division is going nowhere. After all the hype surrounding the Divas Revolution, it is back to square one filled with random bookings.

The Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch program is the most likely match that WWE would book for Royal Rumble, but the storyline is yet to see a significant twist. Taking away these two divas, the remaining divas in the division are floating around with no purpose whatsoever.

The unwanted feud between the Bellas and Team BAD seems to be going nowhere. This is hurting Sasha Banks, as she is backed big time by the fans.

WWE needs to improve this situation on RAW and hopefully give something better for the divas in 2016.

#3 Cena goes to war

The one man army

Cena made his much-awaited return last week and went straight for the United States Championship. He was inches close from getting the title back and if it wasn’t for The League of Nations, Cena would have won the belt last week.

After what happened, Cena is unlikely to settle down. His never give up attitude will be put on display on Raw when he will once again draw battle lines with Alberto Del Rio.

The entire League of Nations could be lured into the same angle and in short, WWE could cement the foundation of this Cena vs. League of Nations feud.

#2 The Royal Rumble dilemma

Not an exciting announcement

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is just three weeks away. As it, kick starts the WrestleMania season, the importance of the show is paramount. Yet, WWE has not booked any match for the show.

The Royal Rumble match is confirmed and the company added two contestants to it as well. But the likes of Big Show and Curtis Axel do not do any favor in terms of creating a buzz.

We could see the addition of some more names to the Rumble match and if WWE is choosing such a path, the additions should be big enough to create some lasting headlines. Also, the undercard of the pay-per-view needs to be sorted out fast.

#1 The main event

The main event

If fans will tune into Monday Night Raw this week, it will be to see the main event between Reigns and Sheamus. Vince McMahon as the special guest referee is an idea straight from the vaults and just like always, it has the potential to succeed. The possibilities in which this match could end are many.

The most shocking one perhaps would be a title change. A return from Triple H is also a major possibility and if it happens, expect WWE to book a Triple H vs. Roman Reigns match for Royal Rumble.

Another possible, but least likely ending is a face turn from Vince McMahon. it will be something fresh but at the same time, it won’t make much sense.
