WWE road to SummerSlam: Best way to book Paige

A young girl from England shocked the whole WWE Universe on the night after WrestleMania when she marked an end to the one year long title reign of AJ Lee. Those who followed NXT recognized her as Paige while the Indy fans knew her by the name Britani Knight.WWE however decided to make her grow as the underdog who conquered the AJ Lees reign. The company has managed to project her as an outsider to the division thus stacking the odds against her.Paige being the Divas champion, the company would need to book her in a credible way through to Summerslam so that she could live up to the whole hype and break out as a top diva that could carry the division. So here is the latest addition to the Road to SummerSlam series, Paige.

#7 Putting an end to a disgruntled Fox at Payback

WWE pushed forward the idea of Alicia Fox being a possible opponent of Paige this week when they gave her character some dimension. Alicia is without any doubt a dedicated in ring worker and she has shown that she could wrestle better than most of the other divas in the division.

Paige and Alicia have had some matches recently but all were a bit short since the only aim was to push Paige. However, if given a good enough time and stage, the two could work out a great match.

This makes Alicia the best option to face Paige at Payback and once the match ends, Paige should be able to end the anger of Alicia by letting her know that the current champion is not like the others in the roster. It could end with Alicia admitting that Paige is a good champion and shaking hands in the end.

#6 You havent earned my respect, you rookie

Paige will be coming out of Payback with her head raised high now that she has won over Alicia Fox. However, it doesn’t mean that she got the respect of everyone else in the roster. ,

Natalya has established herself as the dean of the division and she also has the skills to show off as well. The recent matches with Nikki Bella suggested that she might be taking a heel run also. So Natalya could come out and say that Paige hasn’t earned any respect from her.

Natalya could also call Paige a rookie owing to the fact that Natalya is the most experienced one in the roster now. This could end up in Paige accepting Natalya’s challenge for a title match which will happen at Money in the Bank.

#5 Beating Natalya at Money in the Bank and AJ Lee returning

Paige and Natalya is two of the most talented girls in the division between the ropes and a pay-per-view match between the two could for the title would be swell.

They could work out a good match with a lot of in ring action which can remind the fans of how the women used to wrestle back in the days. Paige could retain the title after a hard-fought match continuing her reign as the champion.

But just when the celebrations kick off, AJ Lee could make her return and make sure that her agenda is getting her title match.

#4 You dont have what it takes to be champion

With AJ Lee having her rematch clause intact, she could set up a match with Paige a Battleground. But since its AJ Lee, she is sure to do some mouth rattling before she gets her shot at the title.

AJ could remind the fans how she carried the belt with her for the past year and what a bad job Paige is doing now. Since AJ is a strong opponent on the microphone, the company could let Paige talk her heart out and show her charisma with the words.

The two cutting promos against eachother are going to be some great segments for the divas division which will be seeing its first real big feud in years.

#3 AJ Lee vs. Paige at Battleground

It would be a heated affair by the time it reaches Battleground as both Paige and AJ excel with the microphone.

The two also have a great chemistry in ring as well which makes this one a sure solid match. Paige could be shown as the underdog here as well to let AJ get some more momentum after her return. However, in the end, Paige could walk out as the winner leaving AJ Lee angry.

The match could be just like the ones that Paige had after winning the title where she would come back after taking a lot of offense to snatch the win.

#2 AJ going personal by dragging Paiges mother into the mix to get a rematch

Since AJ made use of her rematch clause at Battleground and still didn’t manage to get the title away from Paige, she will be looking to push Paige to the limits to get a rematch.

The best way to do that would be going personal and dragging Paige’s mother into the mix. Saraya knight, who is Paige’s mother, is also a wrestler in the Indy circuit. WWE wouldn’t have a tough time getting her to do some appearance to make the feud spicier.

AJ could challenge Saraya for a match and then beat her up badly in order to unleash the anger in Paige and make her look dangerous. This would also mark the end of the underdog run of Paige as she would be a wrestler looking to settle the score with someone who hurt her mother.

#1 No Disqualification match at SummerSlam

Now this would be something that the Divas division didn’t have for a long time. A well boiled feud with two talented wrestlers culminating in a anything goes match at a big pay-per-view.

It will be the new revenge seeking Paige against the wicked AJ Lee with making it look more than just the title. The WWE could hit the nostalgic spots of the fans with this one as Trish Stratus and Lita used to have some great matches like this.

The Divas division will have its fair representation in the SummerSlam and the fans will be happy as well making this a good for business way to book the Divas champion. The company could also stretch the feud between two since they have so much to offer.
