WWE Roadblock 2016 - 5 Points to Note

Ambrose won hearts but not the match

In spite of all the losses, Ambrose still hasn’t lost any steam when it comes to his credibility This has been quite an eventful week for WWE, who are trying to build up maximum momentum for Wrestlemania. They have done exactly that with this Network special as it had great performances, big time match feels, a slice of NXT and one terrific promo from Chris Jericho.New Day kicked off the show being New Day by giving the audience quite an entertainer with their match and promo. Enzo and Cass faced Dash and Dawson for the NXT tag team titles and Canadians got Natalya, Zayn and Jericho in action. With Raw, Smackdown, NXT and Roadblock this week, WWE’s built quite the intrigue. Here are the 5 points to note from the show-

#1 The man named Ambrose

Ambrose won hearts but not the match

It’s the rough road that leads to greatness. Roadblock began with that little line and for sure after this Network Special, you could say the same for a certain Dean Ambrose. He’s completely in his unhinged elements right now.

His character is on his way to face Brock Lesnar, with the belief deep down inside that he can slay the beast. And here he is losing to Reigns at Fastlane, losing to Triple H at Roadblock but somewhere down the line he still makes you believe that he can do what he claims to do.

He is unpredictable. Isn’t that what one usually likes about wrestling, something that’s a rarity these days?

#2 Toronto\'s a part of Suplex City

Harper went to Suplex City

Heyman christened Toronto as the new capital for Suplex City early on in the night. After Bray Wyatt began his night with a promo that confused the announcers on the bout being a handicap match or a one-on-one showdown, Harper got the entire feels of being in Suplex City in spite of it being a handicap match. Instead of being intimidated, Lesnar was reveling in this opportunity.

He made Wyatt look at his follower get dismantled one suplex after another. Well, the beast won and we still don’t know what the Wyatt Family is up to on the road to Wrestlemania, and if they will have any momentum or not.

#3 What a Canadian

Jericho gave one of the best promos in a long, long time

Just when you thought that Chris Jericho cannot have a truly great moment in his career at this point, well he made that happen in Toronto. He played a heel in Canada, called Canadians filthy and dumb and how much he feels insulted to be from this country.

While he got a pop from this crowd the moment his music hit, he then made that very crowd regret it. The crowd was quite hot for all of this, booing away Jericho. His eventual match with Swagger wasn’t as interesting as his promo, that was incredible in every right.

That was quite a heel promo. This Styles Vs Jericho feud is turning out to be even more interesting each passing day. This entire week, Jericho has put one heck of a performance after another on Raw, Smackdown and now Roadblock.

#4 The family feud

Natalya made you believe that she might just take the title away from Charlotte

Well, what’s a show in Canada without some Canadians?

After Chris Jericho, we got Natalya facing Charlotte for the Divas title after Nattie said that the Flair family is full of cowards. She dedicated the match to her uncle Bret Hart and with that, we moved on to quite an awesome match, something expected off both the uber-talented performers involved and their lineage.

The crowd went from being careless towards this match to being thoroughly involved. The match began with a flurry of submission maneuvers, counters, chops and near falls. Charlotte won by underhand tactics, but this was a great match from the women of the WWE and probably the best of the night.

#5 The Hero Canada\'s got

Canada loves Zayn, obviously.

Sami Zayn faced Stardust in a match that was all about being entertaining and giving the Canadians what they want with their hometown hero. It would have been quite the slobber knocker if fellow Canadian Kevin Owens was there to have a face-off with his best friend turned enemy Zayn.

Stardust had most of the control and Zayn was being the residential babyface, though one Helluva kick later, it was all said and done. This was Zayn’s warm up for his first Wrestlemania, hopefully. It’s quite interesting that Owens and Zayn will share their first Wrestlemania together.
