The WWE Championship match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar got a much-needed refreshment this week on Raw when the company added Seth Rollins into the mix to make it a triple threat encounter.It was another instance of the Authority misusing their power but it has indeed made matters more interesting for the WWE Universe. Rollins might not be anywhere near Lesnar or Cena when it comes to star power but he clearly adds another angle into the whole matter.Also, Mr. Money in the bank (keep that in mind) sky rockets the unpredictability of the match and here is a look at how WWE might play out the climax in this potential show stealer.
#3 The Vigilante returns
The last time Sting showed up in WWE, he delivered a deadly blow to the Authority by helping Team Cena. WWE is yet to reveal why the icon did so and though they might not break the suspense at the Rumble, we might get to see the next chapter in the saga.
Seth Rollins will be backed big time by the Authority in the match even though Lesnar will have some sort of priority. The worst-case scenario for Hunter would be Cena winning, but what if Sting makes that happen?
There is a big risk of fans jeering Sting if he helps Cena win the championship but that in turn would make the route for a Triple H vs Sting match easier, while Lesnar could always have an angle with Rollins.
#2 Run continues
Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship at SummerSlam last year and though he has been the champion for nearly six months, the beast has only defended his title once.
Rumble will see the second defense of the reign and if he is contracted till WrestleMania, there is no reason why WWE should take the championship away. Lesnar going into Mania with the title around his waist would be a big draw and the one beating him would look even better.
Lesnar needs to be dominant of both men at the pay-per-view and the company could book an ending where Rollins gets protected at Cena’s expense. The Authority could lay out the Cenation leader so that Lesnar could capitalize and regain his gold.
#1 Surprise cash-in
Seth Rollins has the biggest advantage heading into Royal Rumble thanks to his Money in the Bank briefcase. Even if he loses the match at Rumble, he will still have the option of cashing in the contract and winning the championship.
Rollins winning the championship will arguably be the first big shock of 2015 and it will set the tone for WrestleMania. No one would be expecting Rollins to get one over Cena and Lesnar at the same night and it would be the biggest moment of his career.
On the other side WWE can let Daniel Bryan or Roman Reigns win the Royal Rumble giving the fans a great main event at WrestleMania rather than the same old part timers being there.
