The WWE creative team was left without many options for the Divas Championship once Paige ran her course with AJ Lee. All the remaining divas in the division had their shot at AJ during her last run and AJ even defeated the entire divas division in one go at this year’s WrestleMania.With such a crisis in place, the best shot that the company had at giving the fans something good was Nikki Bella. If the decision was based on-in ring ability, then someone like Natalya would’ve got the pick, but when it came to momentum, Nikki had it on her side.The Bellas are coming off a hot angle from Hell in a Cell and the personal assistant angle would clearly add some depth to the championship match as well (at least that’s the idea).With that in mind, the WWE has drawn battle lines for Survivor Series between AJ Lee and Nikki Bella and here is a look at the possible ways in which the match could end.
#3 The worst thing that WWE could do
One of the biggest fears that the fans have heading into this match is an ending where Nikki gets a clean win over AJ Lee. Despite the momentum that Nikki has, it would be hard to sell a clean win against AJ Lee.
Being the divas champion means that you represent the entire division and there isn’t a better candidate in the division right now, other than AJ Lee and Paige to do that.
It’s not that Nikki is bad; it’s just that the company would struggle to make their divas division credible by making a reality television star the champion, while keeping the title with someone who actually knows to wrestle would be better.
Also, sacrificing the divas championship due to a feud between the Bellas would be a cheap move as the twins weren’t able to pull in some heat despite being given a main event type push from SummerSlam itself.
#2 AJ Lee gets it clean
While the last possible ending would be bad for business in the longer run, this one might cost the company when the final report card of Survivor Series comes out. That is unless Nikki gives a surprising performance.
The battle that the two Bellas had at Hell in a Cell was surprisingly good because both of them gave their best. If Nikki manages to produce a similar performance against AJ, the segment would be known for the in-ring action.
In case that doesn’t happen and the WWE gives AJ a clean win, then there will not be any headlines made from this match. It would go down just like any other divas match where AJ would look good and Nikki would make a fool out of herself. Brie would be nothing more than a bystander which is pretty much a waste of time.
#1 Tale of the personal assistant
This would probably be the best way to book this match. The fans started to remain invested in the Bellas once the company decided to run a personal assistant angle involving the two after Hell in a Cell.
Nikki had all the potential to break out as the top heel in the divas division by making Brie’s life a living hell but some bad booking from the company ruined things up big time. Now, since the angle’s heart has been cut open, the only thing they could hope for is a better climax.
The stipulation at Hell in a Cell stated that the loser would become the personal assistant of the winner for a whole month and that the time might be coming up at Survivor Series. Brie could turn up and screw her sister by helping AJ win the match. An ending like this is sure to grab the headlines even if the match ends up being forgettable.
