Ever since the PG Era kicked off, the hardcore fans have complained about the clear lack of locgic or meaningful storylines. many have complained about the restrictions that thsi era offered when it began. All of that mainly kicked off post 2009 but WWE has entered it’s PG Era in 2008. But there have been some feuds which will be or have been counted upon as great rivalries. Anybody can start a feud but takes a lot for something to be touted as a rivalry. Here, we take a look 5 of the best rivalries that has come out since the PG era.

#1 John Cena vs CM Punk

There is no doubt that this was the most relevant rivalry to come out of the PG Era. It was important because for years Cena was the Invincible One. Nobody came close his status as the company’s top guy.

And then out of the blue, CM Punk gave dropped that Pipebomb and suddenly it seemed like there was something new to look forward to,something one hadn’t witnessed in 3 or 4 years and that’s a long time for the longest running weekly episodic show like Raw.

All of their matches have been something worth watching. Their match at MITB 2011 was their masterpiece and that’s saying something after all the stellar, controversy equipped matches they’ve been a part of. Nobody could have thought that the match on Raw before Wrestlemania 29 will be their last match. Nobody. That puts that great match in a list of its own.

#2 Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose

Is this too soon? For some of you, it might be. But there is no doubt that this is the most defining feud of this year and a relevant rivalry for this generation. They’re not even 30 yet. They’ve had a handful of matches.

They’ve faced off at Money In The Bank, Summerslam and Hell In A Cell. had violent encounters at Night Of Champions and countless Raw and Smackdown episodes, but they still entertain. They still don’t disappoint.

Right now, this feud is on a break. But it’s a hard fact to ignore that these two superstars have been quite pivotal in the shaping of WWE’s future. They’ve main evented a PPV already, which had Cena and Orton.

#3 Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels

The only reason why this rivalry is below Rollins and Ambrose is because it happened just when the WWE was stepping ingto the PG zone. They still had some violent moments we did not witness much a few years down the line. They had some spectacular matches, which was expected from them but all of them were accompanied by a spectacular storyline.

And in between all of that, Chris Jericho went from being an Intercontinental Champion to a World heavyweight Champion, from being a babyface to the slow talking heel. This rivalry saw an eye injury, retirement, comeback, an unsanctioned match. It’s seen it all.

#4 Randy Orton vs Christian

Randy Orton might be the only person involved in an overrated and an underrated rivalry.

His rivalry with Christian was great and underrated. It ended way too soon and it doesn’t seem like it’ll have the same management support it had because of Christian’s competitive status with the Company. This rivalry kickstarted when Christian had his breakthrough year in the WWE where he was seriously been considered as one of the main event stars. He won the World heavyweight Title from Del Rio and then one night on Smackdown, Orton was drafted to a new show and became the new champion. Thus kickstarting the rivalry.

All good things come to an end.but this came to an end too soon.

#5 Cm Punk vs Jeff Hardy

Apart from Edge, if there was anyone against whom Jeff Hardy seemed at his best was against CM Punk. The World Heavyweight Championship went back and forth between the two.

This also involved CM Punk dressing up as Jeff hardy and seriously fooling those in the audience. This was probably the best rivalry CM Punk had. heel CM punk is always must-watch. And Jeff hardy is one of the few babyfaces who will always get cheered, courtesy his high flying moveset.

What worked was CM Punk, being drug free, mentioning Jeff Hardy’s history of substance abuse.
