WrestleMania 31: 5 major twists that could happen at the pay-per-view

Plot twists are arguably the heart of good storylines. It would be no different at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on March 29 when the WWE will be bringing their most important story of the year, WrestleMania.Coming off the back of pay-per-views like Royal Rumble and Fast Lane, there is an immense amount of burden on the shoulders of Vince McMahon to make sure about delivering the goods. And pulling off the right twists would probably be the shortcut to success. The card is molded in such a way to accommodate a plethora of surprises and here is a look at some of the interesting ones that we might see.

#5 The potential returns

The potential returns that could happen at the pay-per-view will always be classified as twists or surprises. There are a handful of possible instances waiting to be explored when the show hits pay-per-view and doing the right one is what the company needs to do next.

Fans will always be happy to see the likes of Rock, Steve Austin or any other Attitude Era superstar make a return while others like Sheamus, Bo Dallas, or even Zack Ryder would get some limelight if pulled off properly.

Seeing some unexpected superstar walk down the aisle is a feeling the fans would want at WrestleMania and WWE should think about the options they have in their hands.

#4 Rusev gets a clean win over Cena

The United States Championship will be in a relevant feud at WrestleMania when Rusev and Cena face off against each other. It will be a tightly contested match to be honest but we all know the climax of the match, don’t we?

Cena is unlikely to lose out to Rusev in a stage like WrestleMania firstly because of WWE’s love for him and secondly since Rusev is running the anti-American gimmick.

On the other hand, if Rusev gets a clean win over the Cenation leader, then it would go down in the books as a big plot twist. Rusev’s career would be made there and then and as far as the fans are concerned, they will be happy seeing Cena lose every once in a while.

#3 The Authority explodes

If there is anything that the WWE needs to end at WrestleMania, it has to be the Authority. they have been reigning in power for ridiculously long now and it would only be fitting from the company’s side to pull the plug on the whole authority figures angle.

The current stable consists of Big Show, Kane, J and J security, Seth Rollins, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Hunter will be engaged in the feud against Sting at Mania when Rollins will be locking horns with Orton, this leaves Kane and Big Show with the task of destroying Authority.

The seeds were sown for the same recently on Raw and letting the two giants have a face run before the final bow will be welcomed by the WWE Universe.

#2 Heyman turns on Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar’s contract with the WWE runs out after WrestleMania. Rather than being concerned about what to do with the championship in absence of the Beast, WWE should be worried about where to invest Paul Heyman next.

Heyman is more valuable to WWE than Lesnar at the moment and keeping him in the roster beyond WrestleMania will be crucial. For this, the company would have to find a new Paul Heyman guy. And who better than Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins to fill in the slot?

Either of the two superstars could align with Heyman and double cross Lesnar at WrestleMania. This would send Lesnar packing in a proper manner and at the same time would keep Heyman rooted to where he is supposed to be.

#1 Seth Rollins cashes in

There are still a lot of doubts about the capability of the Reigns - Lesnar match. For starters, the fans are still struggling to accept Reigns winning the rumble ahead of Bryan while Lesnar’s contract running out on the very next day is another problem.

Once the match gets over, the fans could either be extremely happy or they could be extremely angry, there isn't going to be a middle emotion.

Either way, a Seth Rollins cash in would go down as WWE’s insurance policy. If they screw up, Rollins covers and if they don't screw up then Rollins cause a surprise. Both would help the WWE in the longer run.
