1. Suarez bite lands Liverpool in new controversy

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez’s reputation for controversy was only enhanced by Sunday’s showing at Anfield against Chelsea, where after conceding a penalty and scoring a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw, he ended up in the dock for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

2. Tottenham fightback against Manchester City tips title towards United:

Tottenham Hotspur plundered three goals in seven minutes to stun defending champions Manchester City 3-1 on Sunday and leave Manchester United on the brink of the Premier League title.

3. IPL 6: Sehwag whirlwind gives Daredevils maiden win

It took a blistering knock from Virender Sehwag to end Delhi Daredevils’ six-match losing streak as they beat Mumbai Indians by nine wickets for their first win in the sixth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) at the packed Ferozeshah Kotla here Sunday.

4. IPL 6: Mandeep, Miller stun Pune Warriors

An unbeaten 128-run stand off 79 balls between Mandeep Singh and David Miller helped Kings XI Punjab beat Pune Warriors India seven wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Sunday.

5. Djokovic ends Nadal’s eight year reign at Monaco:

Novak Djokovic ended Rafael Nadal’s dreams of a record ninth successive Monte Carlo Masters title with a 6-2, 7-6 (7/1) victory in the final on Sunday.

6. Vettel soars clear with Bahrain triumph:

Defending triple world champion Sebastian Vettel opened up a clear lead at the top of this year’s title race on Sunday when he cruised to victory for Red Bull in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

7. Miami Heat and LeBron open playoffs in style:

LeBron “King” James and the reigning NBA champion Miami Heat opened their playoff campaign in regal style Sunday with a wire-to-wire 110-87 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

8. Star trio lead Spurs over depleted Lakers:

San Antonio’s star trio of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili combined for 53 points to lead the Spurs to a 91-79 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in their NBA playoff opener.

9. Du Pengyu, Wang Yihan emerge Asian champions:

There were two surprise results in the finals of the Badminton Asia Championships that concluded at Chinese Taipei on Sunday.

Second seed Du Pengyu of China won his first major title subduing teammate Chen Long 21-17 21-19 in the men’s singles final, while Wang Yihan, also seeded No.2, won the women’s singles title over No.1 Li Xuerui 21-15 21-13.

10. Kebede, Jeptoo win emotional London Marathon:

Ethiopia’s Tsegaye Kebede and Priscah Jeptoo of Kenya triumphed at a sombre London Marathon on Sunday, as runners paid tribute to the victims of the deadly bomb attacks at the Boston Marathon.

11. O’Sullivan eases past Campbell in World Snooker:

Four-time champion Ronnie O’Sullivan breezed past Marcus Campbell 10-4 in the opening match of the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield.

12. McDowell downs Simpson in Heritage playoff:

Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell defeated Webb Simpson at the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the US PGA Tour’s Heritage tournament.

13. Martin takes Liege classic honours:

Ireland’s Daniel Martin, riding for Garmin, won Sunday’s Liege-Bastogne-Liege classic race, seeing off Spanish pair JoaquimRodriguez and Alejandro Valverde after a gruelling 261.5 kilometres.
