World Aquatics Championships 2024 Swimming Day 2: Schedule, athletes in action, and more

Kate Douglass and Nic Fink will be competing in the finals of the women's 200m medley and men's 100m breaststroke at the World Aquatics Championships 2024.

The swimming disciplines have begun at the World Aquatics Championships 2024, as the first day (Sunday, February 11) witnessed swimmers competing in numerous disciplines like women’s 200m medley, 100m butterfly, 400m freestyle, and men’s 400m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 100m breaststroke events.

Day 2 (Monday, February 12) at the World Aquatics Championships 2024 will see the swimmers in action in the heats of the women’s 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 1500m freestyle, and men’s 100m backstroke, and 200m freestyle disciplines.

Besides these, the semi-finals for the women’s 100m backstroke, breaststroke, and men’s 200m freestyle, and 100m backstroke events will also be held on Monday.

Meanwhile, a few athletes from Day 1 of the Swimming events will also compete on Day 2 as they will swim in the finals of the women's 100m butterfly, 200m medley, and men’s 100m breaststroke, and 50m butterfly events.

Prominent swimmers like Adam Peaty, Nic Fink, Kate Douglass, Sydney Pickrem, Claire Curzan, and Michael Andrew will all be battling for top honors at the World Aquatics Championships 2024 on Monday.

Additionally, Kathleen Dawson, Hunter Armstrong, Luke Greenbank, Ruta Meilutyte, Benedetta Pilato, Siobhan Haughey, Duncan Scott, Sunwoo Hwang, Felix Auboeck, Simona Quadarella, and Li Bingjie, are some other top swimmers to watch out for at the World Aquatics Championships 2024.

The men’s 100m backstroke will witness the USA’s Hunter Armstrong aiming for a place in the semifinals as Pieter Coetze, Luke Greenbank, and Hugo Gonzalez are also major contenders in the 21st edition of the World Aquatics Championships.

In the women’s 100m backstroke, Tokyo Olympic medalists Curzan, and Great Britain’s Dawson, and Dutch former world record holder in the 50m backstroke, Kira Toussaint, will look to make an impression at the World Aquatics Championships 2024.
