"All these guys bring different sides to it" - Rohan Bopanna names his picks as Novak Djokovic's PTPA releases its first tennis trading card pack

Former World No. 1 in doubles Rohan Bopanna recently named his picks for the PTPA's tennis trading card pack.

Novak Djokovic co-founded the organization in 2019 with Vasek Pospisil, however, the foundation has failed to make a significant mark in the tennis world as of now.

PTPA's for-profit affiliate, Winners Alliance, and Fanatics Collectibles unveiled a new collaboration to produce an annual set of cards for the next 20 years. Through trading card firm Topps, this agreement will offer programs for trading card sets for men and women. Fanatics will have the exclusive right to use the image and name of the players who agree to this deal.

Bopanna, 43, released a video on social media where he revealed his picks for the trading card pack. Mentioning his picks, the Indian tennis legend also added that these players "bring a different side" to it.

"I would love to have Frances Tiafoe, you know he is just a fun guy to hang with and chill with. Also, I would love to see Denis Shapovalov. All these guys, I think you know bring different sides to it," the veteran said.

Bopanna also picked a women professional tennis player to be included in his card pack.

"And on the female side, Ons Jabeur, I think, is a really, really sweet person, and I love chatting with her as well, so yeah, she is definitely the one on the female side," Rohan Bopanna added.

Rohan Bopanna spoke earlier about the importance of having PTPA in today's tennis world. The World No. 11 in doubles, expressed his pride at being a part of the Djokovic-backed foundation and further stated it is a "need of the hour."

“I am proud to be part of the Professional Tennis Players Association, the PTPA. I really believe it’s a need of the hour,” he said.

Bopanna further added that the organization will be helpful not just for current professional players but also for upcoming players in the near future.

“We as current professional tennis players need to have one voice in order to really push for more transparency, more opportunities not only for us as tennis players currently who are playing, but also for the future generations of tennis players,” Rohan Bopanna said.

Earlier, during the Australian Open, Djokovic spoke about how the PTPA doesn't get support from other governing bodies, but despite that, they are willing to stay and continue their fight.
