Former tennis professional Chris Evert recently endorsed Tom Brady's name in coach Patrick Mouratoglou's discussion of "The Decade of the GOATS."

Brady, 45, represented the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL) for the bulk of his career. He is widely regarded as one of the best athletes of all-time. Having won seven Super Bowls during his career, Brady initially announced his retirement last year, although he returned to playing in the NFL just 40 days later. Earlier this month, the American quarterback officially announced his retirement "for good."

Renowned tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou turned to social media on Thursday to opine that the last decade has been the "The Decade of the GOATs" in sports, with several all-time greats dominating their respective fields.

"The decade of GOATS : [Roger]Federer, [Rafael]Nadal, [Novak]Djokovic, Serena [Williams], Lebron [James], Tiger[Woods], Lewis Hamilton…. How crazy is that ?"

Upon reflection, the former coach of Serena Williams added retired sprinter Usain Bolt's name to the list.

"I should have named Bolt too," Mouratoglou wrote on Twitter.

An 18-Grand Slam singles title winner, Chris Evert added her own pick to the list at this point, vouching for Tom Brady.

"Brady?," Evert captioned the tweet.

The GOAT debate has been persistent in recent years in the tennis world. Several former and active stars have often shared their opinions on the same over the years, and former World No. 1 Chris Evert is no exception.

Last year, on Twitter, Evert indulged herself in a discussion about the greatness of two former World No. 1s -- Monica Seles and Steffi Graff. One Twitter user argued that Graff could be a good shout for the GOAT status, but Seles' absence from the tour (due to her being stabbed in court) helped Graff's rise to the top.

Evert chimed in on the conversation and stated that both the scenarios are correct.

"Well said… both are true…" Evert wrote.

In an interview from last year, Evert reflected on Serena Williams' career and stated that the American might not have the "most accomplished" career even if she has won the most Grand Slams in the Open Era.

"There’s a different philosophy. It’s all about the Grand Slams. Is Serena the best tennis player until this point? Absolutely. But it’s complicated when you compare careers and wins and eras. I’m not sure she has the most accomplished career," Evert said.
