American tennis sensation Coco Gauff recently paid tribute to NFL legend Jim Brown following his passing.

Jim Brown, the legendary American football player who went on to become a Hollywood action hero and civil rights activist, died at the age of 87. On Thursday (May 18), the Pro Football Hall of Famer died peacefully at his Los Angeles home.

The American led the Cleveland Browns to the NFL championship in 1964 and was named the league's Most Valuable Player three times. In fact, he was one of the first superstars in the game as it gained popularity on television.

Following that, Coco Gauff paid respect to the star on her Instagram stories, thanking him for his "incredible legacy on and off the field."

"Rest in power Mr. Jim Brown. Thank you for your incredible legacy on and off the field," she wrote.

"I think I want to relearn and retrain myself to be aggressive; it's a crucial year for me" - Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff recently competed in the 2023 Italian Open, where she got off to a good start by defeating Yulia Putintseva. However, her run was unexpectedly cut short in the next round by Marie Bouzkova in three sets: 6-4, 2-6, 2-6.

During a press conference at the WTA 1000 tournament in the Italian capital, the American was asked about the difficulties of maintaining her aggressive style in tense situations in big matches and whether she planned to continue to play like that going forward.

She responded that she has been quite successful while playing aggressively and that her ultimate goal is to become World No. 1 and a Grand Slam winner, for which she will need to elevate her style of play even further.

"I think just the instinct of it. You do so much one way. I've been pretty successful playing the way I've been playing. But the goal isn't to be top 10 forever. The goal is to be No. 1 and win Grand Slams. To get to that next level, I feel like that's the decisions I have to make, so it's almost retraining my mind to make those decisions," she said.

She added:

"I mean, the result goal would be to win Roland Garros. I mean, that's I feel like everybody who enters the tournament's goal. I do think just going back to committing to the process, I feel like this year we can really change the way I play. I feel like it's a crucial year for me. So I think I want to relearn and retrain myself to be aggressive."
