Iga Swiatek has often shared how supportive her team is. Following her 2024 Italian Open victory on Saturday, May 18, her sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz shared a message for the World No. 1 on social media.
Swiatek clinched her fourth title of the season in Rome when she defeated Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka 6-2, 6-3 in the final. This is also the third time Swiatek has won the Italian Open in five attempts.
After the match on Saturday, Abramowicz, a crucial member of Swiatek's team since 2019, posted a picture on her X account, featuring the two holding the Italian Open trophy.
In the caption, Abramowicz congratulated Swiatek and commended her for her strength in the face of difficulties.
“It doesn't get easier. You just get stronger,” Daria Abramowicz wrote.
While speaking to the press after the match, Swiatek said she was happy with her consistency during the clay season, which saw her win the Madrid Open earlier in May and now the Italian Open. The Pole further expressed her anticipation for the French Open, a tournament she has won three times.
“I'm really happy that I was able to play consistently during the clay season. The final tournament is in front of us. I always enjoy playing here,” Iga Swiatek said (via BBC).
Iga Swiatek - “Communication is different than with a therapist… Daria and I know each other well”

Back in November 2023, Iga Swiatek weighed in on her relationship with her psychologist Daria Abramowicz. During an interview with SportoweFakty, she said their relationship is not limited to the on-court and mental training, but also everyday life.
"Our cooperation does not only concern controlling emotions on the court or implementing mental training but also in everyday life," Swiatek said.
Swiatek added that her communication with Abramowicz differs from that of a conventional therapist. Despite knowing each other quite well, the two remain professional and don't let it affect their work.
"Communication is different than with a therapist you see once every two weeks. Daria and I know each other well, but as a professional, she wouldn't let it affect our work," Swiatek added.
"We set session times and work through specific things. It doesn't change the fact that we can eat dinner together or watch something. Sometimes elements of work appear between sessions," she said.
On Swiatek's team are also her fitness trainer Maciej Ryszczuk and coach Tomasz Wiktorowski, who has been with her since 2021. They have helped her win the French Open in 2022 and 2023, the US Open in 2022, the 2023 WTA Finals, and many other trophies.
