Day 3 of the 2023 BNP Miami Open will witness plenty of top players begin their campaigns.
World No. 1 and defending champion Iga Swiatek would've competed on Thursday. Unfortunately, a rib injury forced her out of the tournament, ending her title defense prematurely.
Following a first-round bye, seeded players such as Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Jelena Ostapenko and Victoria Azarenka will take to the court. Indian Wells champion Elena Rybakina is also in the mix.
Dominic Thiem will be aiming to end his poor run of form by scoring a win over Lorenzo Sonego. Richard Gasquet, Mackenzie McDonald and Cristian Garin are some of the other well-known names in action.
