American tennis sensation Coco Gauff has responded to Zendaya's wish after the actress expressed her desire to meet the tennis player. Gauff expressed her excitement on social media after seeing Zendaya's comments on her.

Earlier, at the screening of her new film 'Challengers', Zendaya revealed that she is a fan of US Open champion Gauff. Zendaya has been attending various red carpet events to promote her new film where she plays a tennis player's role. The screening of 'Challengers' took place in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 16.

Coco Gauff has now reacted as she saw the comments made by the actress while speaking to the media. The World No. 3 was left starstruck as she could not contain her excitement.

The tennis star showed her love for Zendaya on her Instagram story, saying:

"Screaming in my bed, I love you too."

Zendaya has worked with tennis coach Brad Gilbert on preparation for the movie. Interestingly, Gilbert is also the coach of Coco Gauff. The film will hit the big screens on Friday, April 26.

The actress earlier spoke to representatives of the Tennis Channel. During the interaction, she was asked about who inspires her. Zendaya quickly took Gauff's name and expressed her wish to meet the player.

Zendaya said:

“I love Coco. I haven’t met her yet, but I sure hope so.”

Referring to Brad Gilbert, she continued:

“Brad is her coach so I'm like 'I want to meet her.”

The 20-year-old Gauff is in action at the Stuttgart Open where she has reached the quarterfinals. Her opponent for the clash is yet to be decided. She beat her countrywoman Sachia Vickery 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 in the round of 16.

Coco Gauff won her first Grand Slam after triumphing at the 2023 US Open. She defeated Belarusia's Aryna Sabalenka 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. The 19-year-old became the youngest American to win a Grand Slam since Serena Williams, who won her first slam when she was 17.

After her historic win, she received many congratulatory messages and gifts. In an interview, Gauff revealed that Zendaya sent her a massive bouquet, which was so heavy that she and her brother found it heavy to lift it.

Gauff said:

"The coolest thing that happened to me was Zendaya sent me flowers to my house. It was like a huge bouquet of flowers. My brother & I struggled to lift it up on the table. I think it weighed at least 50 pounds. It was so heavy..."
