Sebastian Korda, the son of 1998 Australian Open title winner Petr Korda, achieved his first ATP title at the Emilia-Romagna Open in 2021. He continued his momentum in 2022, making it to the Australian Open and three Masters third rounds, catapulting himself to the World No. 30 in the rankings.

The American's second career singles title came at the Citi Open in Washington this year. It's also his first ATP 500 tournament victory.

After his season, Korda posted a snap of his tennis session in his Instagram story, flaunting a Stanley tumbler from Waterdrop, the water filter brand for whom Novak Djokovic is the ambassador.

In August 2024, Korda won his second tour-level title at the Citi Open. In a post-match conference, he shared how he played tennis and ice hockey as a child but his parents asked him to pick one sport. He finalized his sport at the 2009 US Open when he witnessed Radek Stepanek and Djokovic battle it out on the court.

"My father coached Radek Stepanek and almost every summer we went with him to the US Open. That's the reason I started playing tennis. I also played ice hockey and my parents told me, 'You have to decide what you want to do because everything is too much.' I fell in love with tennis at the US Open. Radek faced Djokovic on the Arthur Ashe court, around 10 o'clock at night and it was packed with people."

He continued:

"The atmosphere was insane. I returned home and decided it was the sport I wanted to pursue. Going to these tournaments, being around the guys, having fun here... that was the biggest key of my career.." he shared. (via Punto De Break)

Sebastian Korda faced the Serb only once at the 2023 Adelaide International final, losing the match 7-6, 6-7, 4-6.
