During a Twitch livestream on June 7, 2025, R&B singer and songwriter Ray J went on record to claim that he “slept with” rapper Sexyy Red. Ray was responding to the speculation that he and Red were merely friends.

“I slept with Sexyy Red. Stop playing with me. And clip that all you want to. Empty the clip…Talking about I party with Sexyy Red, n***a. I slept with Sexyy Red. Ask her. That’s on the dead homies, n***a. I slept with her, n***a,” the singer stated.

Ever since his comments circulated online, it has stirred controversy, and Sexyy Red blasted the R&B singer via social media, as did pop icon, Justin Bieber. The Canadian singer took to social media to say that the claims rubbed him "real wrong."

“This rubs me real wrong. Sorry @sexyyred u the goat,” Bieber wrote.

In the wake of the backlash, Ray J issued an apology to the Pound Town rapper. He clarified that they met each other by chance on a long flight where they sat next to each other. He also said that he regretted misrepresenting their interaction, adding that they "both were tired," and "went to sleep."

“We both were tired, so we went to sleep. Just like we would sleep with anybody else that was sitting next to us on a plane,” Ray clarified.

More about Sexyy Red’s reaction to Ray J’s latest remarks

A day after Ray J’s comments went viral, Sexyy Red called him out for falsely claiming they slept together. She took to her Instagram Story on June 8, 2025, and shared a screenshot of her DM exchange with the Let It Go singer.

In it, Red was seen asking Ray with a video of his viral livestream attached:

“So dis what you doin playing wit people name on da internet?”

Ray J responded by saying that he would "make it clear right now" on his main page, before saying "sorry if you mad at me."

“I said right after we slept on the plane together – you know I playin I’m always trolling and you know I love you – I’ll make it clear right now on my main page – sorry if you mad at me – I’ll make it right now,” Ray said.

However, Sexyy Red did not seem to be okay with it and replied, “Dats not coo,” to which Ray wrote how sorry he was, promising to make things right and “apologize on camera.”

The St. Louis rapper posted the screenshot of the interaction and in the caption, she called Ray J out for his remarks.

"Cornball azx lyin on ya meat is weird...play in yo A* not wimmie… Even to b sayin we 'slept' on the plane together, I said hi and kept it pushin, is you coo cuh?!" she wrote.

Eventually, Ray J appeared to keep his word and apologized for his comments. He hopped on another livestream on Sunday and shared that Sexyy Red is “one of my favorite artists.” He then cleared the air by sharing that he and the SkeeYee rapper were on a plane and “randomly saw each other.”

Ray added that they sat next to each other. However, they both went to sleep separately and had their own “space.”

“I want to apologize to Sexyy Red… We were both flying somewhere… She was sitting by me. She had her space. I had my space. She had her own blanket, her own pillow. I had my own blanket and my own pillow. And we had a long flight,” Ray noted.

The McComb, Mississippi, artist shared going “out of control” while making the previous remarks about Sexyy Red, calling his actions “insensitive” and “not okay.” He admitted it was “trolling at the highest level.”

“I want to say, Sexyy Red, my bad. I hope this gets out there and this gets clipped, and this gets shown. Because even though I said it later on the stream, that didn't get clipped. All they heard was what I said. It was childish, it was uncalled for, and it wasn't cool. My bad, Sexyy,” Ray J concluded.

However, Red did not seem to accept the apology yet. Instead, she reposted the clip on the social networking site X and wrote, “N****s lie on they d**k everyday b.”

Notably, Ray has previously been linked to Sukihana, an associate of Sexyy Red, as mentioned by Baller Alert.
