But, instead of attacking Dexter, Prater holds Batista hostage and instigates Dex to kill his old friend in front of him. He refuses, and the situation escalates to the point that Prater shoots Batista to death. A remorseful Dex admits that he's the real Bay Harbor Butcher just as Batista takes his final breath.

Also, Charley shows up at Harrison's workplace and questions him about his father, leaving both Harrison and Dexter alarmed. So, Dex sneaks into Charley's house, where he learns about her cancer-stricken mother. He warns Charley to stop following Harrison by threatening to kill her mother.
