Tonight’s SNL lineup is a rerun rather than a fresh broadcast, but fans still get a full 90-minute dose of sketches and music. The March 29 episode is set to re-air on June 7, 2025. The host of the episode was Academy Award winner Mikey Madison, and it featured country singer Morgan Wallen as the musical guest.
Fresh off her Oscar win for Anora, Madison delivered a concise monologue and appeared in sketches such as the Please Don’t Destroy short Mikey Madison Is Squidward. Morgan Wallen performed I’m the Problem and Just in Case while promoting his fourth studio album.
SNL begins at 11:30 pm ET/10:30 pm CT on NBC, with the same episode available to stream on Peacock the following morning. As per the NBC Insider report dated June 7, 2025, the rerun is part of the network’s standard summer rotation following the May 17 season 50 finale.
NBC will rebroadcast the 4-hour SNL50 anniversary special on Sunday night.
Mikey Madison hosts SNL on June 7, 2025
Mikey Madison’s first turn as SNL host opens with a topical group chat cold-open. Her teenage character and two friends find themselves texting alongside cabinet officials after a Signal mishap. This prompts Pete Hegseth (Andrew Dismukes) to drop military secrets via emoji while Vice President JD Vance (Bowen Yang) boasts from Greenland, and Marco Rubio (Marcello Hernández) barges in shouting:
“Rubio in the house!”
During her monologue, she mentions that two of her past screen roles required her to be set ablaze and introduces a photo of her twin brother, saying:
"If you guessed the one who looks like Ron Weasley on testosterone, you win."
She then jokingly swaps in a body double when promising a pole dance from Anora. The sketch block blends new ideas with follow-ups. Acting Teacher 2 revives Marcello Hernández’s theatrical coach, berating students, saying:
“It’s a shoe ad, not a you ad!”
Before Big Dumb Line skewers New York hype culture, this time featuring Joe Jonas in place of original invitee Morgan Wallen, Jury Duty showcases a parade of eccentric jurors, including Chloe Fineman playing herself. Meanwhile, Varsity Valley 2 contrasts a spring-break breakup talk with chaos outside the hotel window.
Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che reference the same Signal leak. Devon Walker appears to lampoon influencer morning routines. The second half of the lineup includes Barry the Midwife 2, the Please Don’t Destroy film titled Mikey Madison Is Squidward, a relationship game show called So Like … What Are We?, and an animated short titled Planning New York.
Between sketches, Wallen performs I’m the Problem and Just in Case, then leaves before the curtain call. The episode positions SNL season 50’s ensemble around Mikey Madison’s Oscar momentum while highlighting recurring characters and music-video parodies.
A brief look at Mikey Madison’s career
Mikaela Madison Rosberg, or Mikey Madison’s trajectory from short-film newcomer to Oscar-winning lead has unfolded quickly. Born in Los Angeles on March 25, 1999, she first appeared in the 2013 shorts Retirement and Pani’s Box. Early visibility arrived three years later when she played Max Fox, a guarded teen, across six seasons of FX’s comedy-drama series, Better Things.
Her feature work includes voicing Candi the barista in the 2019 animated film The Addams Family. She also portrayed Susan “Sadie” Atkins in Quentin Tarantino’s period drama Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which screened at Cannes and became a box-office hit.
A steady mix of television guest roles (Imposters, 2017-18) and festival indies (Monster, Nostalgia, 2018) paved the way for her 2022 role as Amber Freeman in the slasher revival Scream. The decisive breakthrough arrived with Sean Baker’s 2024 Cannes winner Anora.
Cast without audition, Madison learned Russian, practiced pole choreography, and relocated to Brighton Beach to prepare. Awards season echoed that view, making her the first member of Gen-Z to win the Best Actress Oscar and also take home a BAFTA.
Away from sets, Madison keeps a low profile. Her rapid rise brought her to SNL in March 2025. The hosting spot aligned with her Anora success and reinforced SNL’s trend of booking freshly minted award winners. Negotiations for projects such as A24’s planned adaptation of The Masque of the Red Death show that the next phase of Madison’s film career is already in motion.
