3 Early Predictions for WWE TLC 2019

Tables, ladders, and chairs...oh my!!
Tables, ladders, and chairs...oh my!!

With Survivor Series and the battle for brand supremacy in the rear-view mirror, the road to the Royal Rumble begins with a pit stop at one of the most extreme nights of the WWE calendar. On December 15th, WWE will emulate live on the WWE Network from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota with WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.

With this being the final pay per view of the year and the Royal Rumble fast approaching, you can expect WWE to pull out all the stops to end certain storylines and get others started as we head towards the new year. TLC is also one of the more anticipated events of the year, as fans that love hardcore and gimmick matches get that with this show.

On the RAW side of things, expect AJ Styles v. Randy Orton and Seth Rollins v. Kevin Owens to be the main feuds going forward, as well as Rey Mysterio and the United States Championship. On the SmackDown side of the card, aside from the Fiend, expect Roman Reigns v. King Corbin to be the main focus heading into TLC, as well as a new challenger for Bayley’s Women’s Championship.

With that being said, here are 3 early predictions for next month’s WWE TLC Pay per view.

3) Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch will team up to face the Kabuki Warriors for the Tag Team Titles

Becky and Charlotte will team up once again at TLC

We saw this match on RAW a few weeks ago, but after the events following and the Women’s Survivor Series Elimination Match, we will likely see it again next month at TLC.

Charlotte had been teaming with Natalya to gain a shot at the Kabuki Warriors, but due to personal reasons, Natalya did not participate in their last encounter. Instead, Becky Lynch teamed with Charlotte and took the loss after distractions from Bayley and Shayna Baszler. With Survivor Series out of the way, that won’t happen again.

Sunday at Survivor Series, Charlotte and Asuka got into an argument, which led to Asuka giving Charlotte the green mist, and as a result leading to RAW’s demise. Asuka and Charlotte faced off last night on RAW, where Asuka won thanks to distractions from Sane and the green mist. There will likely be another match between the two or Charlotte and Sane, which will have more interference, more than likely leading to the save by Becky Lynch and a match being made for the pay per view.

This will have shades of last year’s TLC main event, where Charlotte, Becky, and Asuka main event in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Don’t be surprised if this match will also be a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match as well.

2) Daniel Bryan and/or The Miz will challenge The Fiend for the Universal Championship

At Survivor Series, The Fiend successfully retained the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan. Though he won clean against the former WWE Champion, don’t be surprised if he isn’t finished with Bryan.

The Fiend accomplished one thing, and that was to get Bryan to give in to the YES Movement once again. While it failed to earn Bryan the win, it did add to the story if WWE wants to continue it. However, there is one more element to this story, and that is The Miz.

The Miz has essentially been involved in the Bryan-Fiend feud since it started. As reported by Dave Meltzer, the original plan for Survivor Series was for Miz to take on the Fiend for the Universal Championship, not Bryan. However, due to travel issues, plans changed

He had Bryan on MizTV when the feud started, and confronted Bryan last week before they had a match. At Survivor Series, Miz gave Bryan pep talks before the Universal title match. There has to be a reason Miz is so involved in this feud, and it's probably because he will be challenging the Fiend at some point.

WWE can go about these two ways. The first way is to just do a one on one match between the Fiend and Bryan or the Fiend v. The Miz. Since Bryan lost clean to the Fiend, a Miz match would make the most sense. The other way is to have a #1 contender match between Miz and Bryan on an episode of SmackDown, but it ends in a no contest when the Fiend attacks them both. This sets up the Triple Threat Match for the TLC pay per view.

1) Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens will have an epic bout at TLC

After being embarrassed at Survivor Series, Seth Rollins had a "town hall meeting" on RAW and bashed the entire RAW roster for their shortcomings. After everyone left, Kevin Owens stayed behind, enduring a bit more from Rollins before hitting him with a Stunner. In the main event, AOP attacked Owens, but not Rollins, who bashed them earlier in the night. Rollins then hit two Stomps on Owens before leaving the ring.

Whether or not Rollins is a full-fledged heel yet remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say that his feud with Owens is just beginning. These two feuded in 2016 when Triple H helped Owens become Universal Champion and kicking Rollins out of the Authority. This time the roles will likely be reversed with Rollins being the heel and Owens the babyface. The big question as it pertains to the TLC event is what kind of match will the two have?

Based on the ending of RAW, WWE can go in two directions. One is to just have another one on one match between the two, which would likely end in some shenanigans. However, I can see them holding off on that until either the Royal Rumble or the first RAW of 2020, which usually have a couple of huge matches. The other, and more likely scenario is that it will be a 6-man tag match, with Rollins teaming with AOP against Owens, who would likely team with the Viking Raiders or the Street Profits. Either way, expect Owen and Rollins to clash at TLC in some fashion.
