Chris Jericho is one of the most respected professional wrestlers in the world. He has wrestled everywhere in the world, in a career that has spanned over 2 decades. He had been one of WWE's top performers for a long time, before signing a contract with All Elite Wrestling recently.

Besides building a 'Hall of Fame' worthy wrestling career, Jericho has also been the lead singer of ‘Fozzy’, and he is also a successful writer. Yet, there is something more about him - he is a hothead. Jericho has been known to never back down from a fight, regardless of his opponent's size.

Chris Jericho has not only fought many battles in the squared-circle, but also behind-the-scenes. Here we present 3 instances when Chris Jericho had real fights.

Honorable mention: Chris Jericho vs Sin Cara

Chris Jericho had reportedly confronted Sin Cara for making weird noises during the WWE's European tour in 2016. It has been said that upon being confronted, Sin Cara threw a punch at Jericho who bit the Luchador's finger for vengeance.

Neither of the two wrestlers has spoken much about the fight publicly. So, this story has held its mystique.

But some of Jericho's other tough fights became much more public and were far more dangerous and action-packed.

#3 Backstage brawl with Bill Goldberg

Chris Jericho's backstage battle against Goldberg has made wrestling folklore. At the time when the fight happened, everyone seemed to have been buzzing about it.

The story behind the fight, as Jericho has mentioned in his podcast (Talk is Jericho) and his memoir ‘Undisputed: How to Become World Champ in 1,372 Easy Steps', is an amazing and surprising tale.

The story in a flash: Bill Goldberg and Chris Jericho hadn't seen eye to eye in WCW, so explosions were inevitable when they were paired-up upon Goldberg's arrival in WWE. Unsurprisingly, things did explode between the two wrestlers.

Goldberg had allegedly said some bad things about Jericho to Kevin Nash. Jericho upon receiving the news, confronted Goldberg for badmouthing him - as a result, the two men had an ugly backstage fight.

More surprisingly, the scuffle had an unexpected winner. Yes, Jericho dominated Goldberg. In fact, he almost had Goldberg passed out at one stage until other wrestlers separated them.

The two men have since resolved all their issues, and share no animosity. The duo now share a kinship and mutual respect. Still, this backstage fight between two great pro-wrestlers will always be remembered by wrestling fanatics.

#2 When Jericho pummeled an intruder

Pro-wrestling may be scripted, but pro-wrestlers are tough men and women. We can all agree that it's certainly not safe to try to sneak into a band's tour bus when a former WWE Champion is the lead singer of that band.

However, a 'messed up guy' tried to sneak into Fozzy's tour-bus, and had to understand the hard way what everyone else knew.

The story in a flash: Jericho's 'Fozzy' had played in Regina, Saskatchewan. After the show, a kid who had played some instrument during the show wanted to get on the Fozzy tour-bus. Then, a man, allegedly drunk, told the kid that he would get him on the bus.

The 'messed-up' guy somehow got on the bus, and when confronted, started a fight with a member of the crew, who apparently suffered a broken collar-bone in the fight. The man was kicked out.

Then, ‘the Savior’ Chris Jericho came out yelling at the guy. Jericho speared him and pummeled him from a mounted position before asking people present to hold on to the intruder until the police arrived. The intruder was later arrested.

This story proved once again that Jericho is a really tough guy who knows how to stand up for himself and others.

#1 When Y2J confronted the Beast

It's one thing to stand up to a drunken intruder, but it requires a lion-heart to stand up to the Beast Incarnate. After the SummerSlam 2016 event, Jericho did something very few can even think of doing - he stood-up to Brock Lesnar.

The story in a flash: The end of the WWE Championship match saw Brock Lesnar brutally attacking Randy Orton who was left in the ring 'lying in a pool of his own blood'.

Jericho, who was backstage during the match, didn't know that the finish had been planned. Understandably concerned about his friend's well-being, Jericho rushed to the gorilla position to check on Orton.

Then, Jericho reportedly shouted something in anger. Lesnar, who had just reached backstage, misinterpreted it and shouted at Jericho in return. Things diffused quickly, as, in no time, the two fighters were 'nose-to-nose', yelling at each other. The duo had an intense exchange, before Vince McMahon and others intervened, separating them.

Of the incident, Jericho said,

“I said something and he said something, next thing you know we’re nose-to-nose yelling at each other and it diffused fairly quickly”

Jericho has gone on to admit that things could have turned out bad for him, as Brock is a trained fighter. But as we know, Jericho isn't someone to back down from a fight.
