#1 Why The Undertaker returned on RAW, and not WrestleMania 35

The Deadman was summoned by Elias last night

In an unexpected turn of events, The Undertaker missed this year's WrestleMania and instead opted to return on the fallout episode of RAW last night. This particular decision can be easily explained when you dive deeper into the kayfabe aspect of The Deadman's legendary character. There is a pattern that has emerged in the past few years, where The Undertaker only answers when he is challenged or summoned (or booked without any reason) on WWE TV.

So in a sense, The Deadman was never technically challenged for a match at this year's WrestleMania, unlike the past few years. That is why The Phenom didn't really have a purpose to show up at the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, Elias did indirectly summon The Undertaker by saying the words 'Dead Man' on last night's RAW, while dissing John Cena at the same time.

That was just an explanation of things from a kayfabe perspective, which just shows how The Undertaker's character lives on via these subtle character nods even to this day. Nevertheless, it looks like The Undertaker and Elias will be facing each other in Saudi Arabia soon.
