3 interesting things which could happen on WWE Raw following SummerSlam (12 August 2019)

Brock Lesnar's next challenger could be determined on the upcoming episode of Raw.
Brock Lesnar's next challenger could be determined on the upcoming episode of Raw.

The previous edition of Raw was the go-home episode before WWE's biggest party of the summer - SummerSlam 2019. And to be honest, WWE did exceedingly well in hyping up the pay-per-view.

From Seth Rollins getting mauled once again by The Beast, to the likes of the current Raw Women Champion Becky Lynch teaming up with Trish Stratus to take on Charlotte Flair and Natalya in a dream tag-team match up, the night had it all. The duo of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross winning the Women's Tag Team Championship in a Fatal Four-way matchup was another major development of the show.

However, Bill Goldberg returning to replace The Miz in his match against Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam was clearly the highlight of the show. While the writing was always on the wall ever since Ziggler started taking shots on the former WCW Champ, WWE deserves a lot of credit for carrying out the whole segment the way it did.

The upcoming episode of Raw will be live from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It's certainly expected to be a blockbuster episode, given Raw following The Big Four PPVs are always huge. While WWE has already announced Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross versus The Kabuki warriors for the Women's Tag Team Titles, expect creative to lay down the breadcrumbs for a few fresh and high profile feud on the upcoming episode.

So, without further ado, let's take a look at three interesting things which could happen on Raw following SummerSlam.

#3 The Kabuki Warriors become the new Women's Tag Team Champions

Will we get a new Tag Team Champs?
Will we get a new Tag Team Champs?

WWE has announced that the newly crowned Women's tag team Champions, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, will be defending their Tag Team Titles against Asuka and Kairi Sane on the upcoming episode of Raw.

Given, the rumors of WWE ending the Wild Card rule very soon, I don't see creative prolonging this feud after August 12. The Kabuki Warriors are one of the hotshot tag teams in WWE at the moment, and a title run seems imminent. Furthermore, with SmackDown moving to Fox very soon, Vince is likely to keep the Women's Tag Team Titles on the blue brand.

Thus, expect creative to crown a new Tag Team Champs on the upcoming episode of Raw. On another note, WWE could even have Nikki Cross falter unintentionally to cost her team the titles. This would then lay down the breadcrumbs for a Cross vs Bliss feud for the following weeks.

#2 The Fiend attacks Seth Rollins

Will Seth Rollins be The Fiend's next victim?
Will Seth Rollins be The Fiend's next victim?

While Seth Rollins is scheduled to take on The Beast, Brock Lesnar, for the Universal Championship during SummerSlam, Bray Wyatt will square off against Finn Balor. However, to be honest, the result of both these matches looks quite predictable.

While a win for The Fiend is almost guaranteed, given Balor is scheduled to take some time off after SummerSlam, WWE is not likely to award another title run to Rollins this soon. However, WWE could reignite the previous rivalry between these two on the upcoming episode of Raw.

On another note, Rollins was not at peace with his mind and looked a bit lost and disturbed after another beating at the hands of Brock Lesnar this week on Raw.

Thus, creative could weave a fascinating storyline by having The Fiend push Rollins to his limits both physically and mentally. WWE could have Rollins show up on Raw to address his loss at SummerSlam only to be attacked by The Fiend.

This would not only spice things up but would also lay down the breadcrumbs for an epic feud between two high profile names of the company.

#1 Drew McIntyre emerges as Brock Lesnar's next opponent

It looks totally on the cards.
It looks totally on the cards.

Brock Lesnar will defend his Universal title against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam and, as we have discussed before, a win for The Beast seems highly likely. However, it would be interesting to see what WWE has in store for Lesnar after August 11.

Among the potential challengers for Lesnar's Universal Championship, Drew McIntyre seems to be ahead in the race currently.

As I have said it before, Drew McIntyre deserves a title run more than anyone else at this moment in WWE. McIntyre has worked his way to the top to become one of the big guns of the current lot after being written off by many WWE Critics. Even though he has a lost a bit of momentum in the last few months, it is high time he gets a much deserved main event push before it's too late.

However, it would be interesting to see how WWE goes on about the same. One such way could be McIntyre attacking Lesnar to lay down the breadcrumbs for a feud, however, The Scottish Psychopath winning a mini-tournament or a qualification match to become Lesnar's next opponent could also be on the cards for the upcoming episode of Raw.
