Just a week after Bron Breakker congratulated Jey Uso on becoming the new Intercontinental Champion and appearing to have a face turn, he wreaked havoc after the Yeet Master's title match against Xavier Woods. While Jey Uso was celebrating, Bron Breakker showed up and speared the reigning champion twice, while he did the same to Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.
Following his actions on RAW, it is safe to say that the former champion will remain a heel going forward. In this article, we take a look at three reasons why WWE canceled Bron Breakker's face turn.
#3. Bron Breakker has unfinished business with Jey Uso
Jey Uso had to survive a Qualifying Tournament to get a shot at Bron Breakker a few weeks ago. The Yeet Master dethroned Bron and earned his first singles title in his 14-year career in WWE.
Despite his victory, Jey Uso didn't finish his current storyline with Breakker, who made it clear with his actions on Monday that he wants a rematch with the reigning champion.
His unfinished business with Jey Uso will lead to a future title match between the two superstars. As of now, it is yet unclear whether WWE will schedule this match for one of the coming RAW episodes or the Crown Jewel premium live event.
#2. His face turn would have no direction
Last Monday on RAW, Bron Breakker congratulated Jey Uso and then confronted Gunther backstage, hinting at a future title match. It seems that WWE put these plans on hold since at Crown Jewel, Gunther will collide with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, with the winner becoming the first-ever Crown Jewel Champion.
Meanwhile, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion confronted WWE legend Goldberg at Bad Blood, teasing a match in the coming weeks or months, which could likely be Goldberg's retirement match.
Thus, a face turn would make no sense for Bron Breakker at the moment, as it would go nowhere, given Gunther's booking.
#1. It could be the only way for Jey Uso to move to SmackDown and join The Bloodline Civil War
Jey Uso was planned to reunite with his brother Jimmy and Roman Reigns to join the Bloodline civil war, the rivalry with Solo Sikoa, and the faction's new version. However, his current run on Monday Night RAW and his becoming the Intercontinental Champion made things more complicated.
As the Yeet Master is occupied on RAW, there is no way that he could move to SmackDown to join The Bloodline storyline. Thus, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce could have either Jey vacate his title or schedule a rematch with Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship, where if Jey loses, he will be free to move to the blue brand.
For now, Bron will take on Kofi Kingston next Monday on RAW, with the latter looking for revenge. In addition, Jey Uso could show up and interfere in the match, costing Breakker the win and setting the stage for a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship.
