The Rock is one of WWE's biggest personalities. From starting as a wrestler to becoming a World Champion and now on TKO's Board of Directors, the wrestler-turned-Hollywood actor has come a long way in the Stamford-based promotion.
During his rise to the top, The Final Boss made many important decisions and forged relations with prominent legends in WWE. While some of these legends hate him, some legendary wrestlers love The Great One.
In this article, we will look at three WWE legends who hate The People's Champ and three veterans who love him:
Dominik Mysterio made an outrageous comment recently. More details HERE
#6. Legends who hate The Rock: Triple H
When The Final Boss and Triple H were in their prime as professional wrestlers, they indulged in a heated rivalry and battled in the ring on many occasions. While it was evident that the two superstars did not like each other on screen, as per a WWE legend, it's the same off-screen.
During an episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Exclusive Coach & Bro Show on Backstage Pass, former RAW Interim GM Johnathan Coachman revealed the animosity between the two superstars is real. As per the coach, regardless of what people see on camera, The Rock and Triple H do not like each other.
#5. Seth Rollins
While Seth Rollins is still active in professional wrestling, he has already cemented his legacy as a legend. And when it comes to having a dislike for The Brahma Bull, Rollins has to feature on the list. During an interview in February 2024, Rollins also made a controversial statement that proved his dislike for the Samoan legend.
During an appearance on Good Morning Football, The Visionary claimed that WWE did not need The Rock. He also added that while the promotion would love to have the Hollywood star back, he was not needed.
#4. Drew McIntyre
When The Rock returned earlier this year, his return majorly affected Drew McIntyre. At the time, The Scottish Warrior was indulged in a rivalry with Seth Rollins, and due to The Final Boss' return, The Revolutionary teamed up with Cody Rhodes, thus losing focus on his feud with McIntyre.
On X, McIntrye, who felt The Rock disrupted the professional wrestling industry with his return, mentioned he might head to Hollywood and disrupt Dwayne Johnson's work. In the end, though, the Scotsman got his match against Rollins at WrestleMania 40 and defeated him to win the World Heavyweight Title, only to eventually lose it to Damian Priest.
#3. Veterans who love The Rock: Mick Foley
During their time as professional wrestlers, Dwayne Johnson and Mick Foley were always known to be good friends. As a matter of fact, the chemistry between the two was evident when they feuded with each other between 1998 and 1999. The iconic on-screen rivalry further strengthened their bond in real life.
Eventually, The People's Champ and Mick Foley were paired together, and they were known as The Rock 'N Sock connection. This pairing between the two WWE legends was loved by fans, and even today, Foley and The Rock continue to be good friends. As per The Hardcore Legend, they keep in touch via text messages.
#2. Kurt Angle
By the time Kurt Angle arrived in WWE, The Brahma Bull was an already established superstar. Regardless, during Angle's rookie year, the two men battled it out in the ring on several occasions, and it was The Rock who put the Olympian over in the latter's rookie year, dropping the to win his first WWE Championship to Kurt at No Mercy 2000.
As per the Olympic gold medalist, The Great One is one of his closest friends in the Stamford-based promotion. Angle also mentioned that The Rock was never political and was never involved with the finishes. Per Angle, the Hollywood star would always do what he was told, and Kurt loved that about him.
#1. John Cena
The rivalry between The Final Boss and John Cena was a major attraction for WrestleMania 28 and WrestleMania 29. While Johnson won the first encounter, Cena was the victor in the second match the following year.
During their rivalry, The Great One and The Franchise Player traded a lot of insults, but years later, Cena heaped praise on The Final Boss. During an interview with REAL 92.3 in 2016, The Doctor of Thuganomics was asked to name the face of WWE before his ascension to the top. The 16-time World Champion said it was Dwayne Johnson.
John admitted that during their two-year rivalry, he gained a lot of respect for the former WWE Champion. Cena also called The People's Champion a spectacular human being.
