2019 is almost near its end. This year proved to be quite an eventful and memorable one for the WWE Universe. WWE provided its enormous fanbase with some solid, high-quality entertainment that pleased and gratified many fans.

Throughout the year, fans saw the ascent and rise of numerous indie-darlings and fan-favorites. WWE gave fans precisely what they asked for. Kofi Kingston, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, and Ricochet were just a few of the stars who had an unforgettable year. These stars achieved considerable success and the WWE Universe was elated to witness them climb to the top of the mountain.

However, WWE has an extremely loaded roster. Understandably so, it is inevitable that some stars had an underwhelming and deplorable time in 2019. Many talented and gifted stars were left out of WWE programming, some were buried mercilessly while others were kept on the sidelines due to injuries.

Here are 3 talented individuals who had a forgettable 2019:

#3 Drew McIntyre

About a little over a year ago, many fans had handpicked Drew McIntyre to become a World Champion in 2019. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very pleasant year for the Scottish Psychopath, who had a forgettable year.

McIntyre was lost in the shuffle for the major part of 2019. He played second-fiddle to the likes of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Shane McMahon, Ricochet and even Baron Corbin. The former Intercontinental Champion was unable to add to his resume this year. He didn't win any championships and struggled to find his footing in the mid-card scene. He lost big-time match-ups against Reigns, Rollins and Ricochet.

As fans might have already witnessed, McIntyre possesses immense talent and charisma. He has all the tools to become a mega-star in WWE. The way he was booked in 2019 severely damaged his aura.

#2 Sami Zayn

Make no mistake about it, Sami Zayn is one of the most gifted individuals in WWE. The former NXT Champion has a lot to offer, both as a character and an in-ring performer. In spite of all that, Zayn has been under-utilized and overlooked on the main roster.

His days on the pinnacle of NXT seem like a lifetime ago. 2019 didn't do Zayn much favors, in fact, it was probably a year he would want to forget. Zayn was sitting on the sidelines till WrestleMania and made an unannounced return on the night after the PPV. He came back with a much stronger hatred and abomination for the WWE Universe and he wasn't afraid to voice his opinions on them, much to their chagrin.

However, upon his return, Zayn went on a losing streak. The former NXT Champion lost to the likes of Finn Balor, Rey Mysterio, and Cedric Alexander. He fell down the pecking order very quickly and was unable to build any momentum whatsoever. The only positive for Zayn in 2019 was that he was able to forge an alliance with the current Intercontinental Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura.

Zayn hasn't done much wrestling since aligning himself with Nakamura. He does all the talking for the King of Strong Style. The alliance has been beneficial to both, but I still feel that it is a waste of Zayn's innumerable attributes and undeniable charisma.

#1 Braun Strowman

Where do we start with Braun Strowman? This is the same guy that was on the cusp of becoming Universal Champion a handful of times in 2017 and 2018. There was a time when the WWE Universe was red-hot for Strowman, there was also a time where Strowman was one of the most over and protected stars on the roster. That seems like ages ago, but I can assure you that it was pretty recent.

Strowman was booked terribly in 2019 and was treading water in the upper-card for most of the time. The Universal Championship eluded him again, he was consistently overshadowed by the likes of Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar. He was able to capture some gold as he became Raw Tag Team Champion alongside Rollins, but he wasn't champion for long. Strowman was relegated to the pre-show at WrestleMania once again, he was left off the card at SummerSlam and was excluded from WWE's top story-lines.

His feud with Tyson Fury saw the Gypsy King come out on top. The Monster Among Men has lost much of the popularity and momentum he once had. His booking has perplexed us, his character has become pretty stale and needs to be revitalized at the earliest.
