Vince McMahon stunned the WWE Universe on SmackDown Live last night after he replaced Kofi Kingston with a returning Kevin Owens in the WWE Championship match at Fastlane. No one saw this coming as a lot of members of the WWE Universe thought Owens might return after WrestleMania 35 or may compete for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.

But, here we are. Kevin Owens has returned and not only has he returned, but he has also pinned the WWE Champion the new Daniel Bryan on SmackDown Live. It seems like we will get a good WWE Fastlane show (a PPV which has always disappointed the fans) this year.

The match between Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan will be the most unpredictable match of the night and it should be Owens who should win the WWE Championship at Fastlane.

Here are 4 reasons the Prizefighter should capture the WWE Championship on 10th March.

#4 To make up for his 2018 burial

Before Kevin Owens got sidelined because of injury, he had a feud with the Monster Amongst Men, Braun Strowman on RAW. The Monster dismantled Owens in their matches. The only pay-per-view match which Owens won was at Extreme Rules where Braun Strowman threw him off the steel cage. Since Owens escaped the cage first, he won the match.

Apart from that, there was not even a victory to Owens’ name against Braun, a feud which ended with Mr Monster in the Bank squashing Kevin at SummerSlam 2018.

It was the worst feud of Kevin Owens’ career and to make his on-screen character as relevant as it was earlier; he needs a big push. Winning the WWE Champion at Fastlane could just be the thing that Owens’ career needs right now as this victory would skyrocket him to the top of the chain on SmackDown Live.

#3 To officially transform WrestleMania 35 into KO Mania

Kevin Owens has wrestled thrice at WrestleMania but the Canadian superstar has never been in a mainstream feud heading into the Show of Shows. On his WrestleMania debut, he defended his Intercontinental Championship in a 7-man ladder match, next at WrestleMania 33, he was in the United States Championship match while at WrestleMania 34 he teamed up with Sami Zayn to face Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan.

Owens always calls WrestleMania as KO Mania but the truth is it is only Owens who calls the grand event as KO Mania and not the WWE Universe. If he wins the WWE title at Fastlane, along with being in a mainstream WrestleMania feud, Owens will earn a respectable position on the card as well.

The WWE Championship is the most prestigious title in sports entertainment and thus, Kevin Owens defending his WWE Championship at the grandest pay-per-view will transform it into KO Mania.

#2 Kevin Owens vs Kofi Kingston looks like a much better WrestleMania feud than Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston

Let’s face it. Kevin Owens is a better heel than Daniel Bryan will ever be in his career. Thus, it would be better if WWE has Kevin Owens and not Daniel Bryan battle Kofi Kingston at WrestleMania 35.

Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston is not a WrestleMania worthy match. It would have been great had WWE not altered the main event of Fastlane as it was perhaps the best slot the Kingston vs Bryan match could get.

However, now that WWE has changed the main event, they can have Owens win the belt at Fastlane and then build the rise of Kofi Kingston to the top of the card, to give the WWE Universe a fantastic heel vs face rivalry.

Kevin Owens and the New Day have phenomenal mic skills and the feud between these superstars will entertain the fans a lot on the road to WrestleMania 35.

#1 To form Evolution 2.0

Who is ready for this?
Who is ready for this?

Evolution has been one of the legendary factions in WWE history. This faction had Triple H, Ric Flair, Batista and Randy Orton as its members and the 4 superstars dominated their era together. With Batista attacking Ric Flair and calling out Triple H this week on RAW, it seems like the Evolution faction has ended.

However, WWE can form a new version of the stable named Evolution 2.0 featuring Triple H, Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. This group can dominate on SmackDown Live with the WWE Champion, Kevin Owens leading the pack.

While Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and Triple H are good friends on TV, Sami Zayn can also join them once he returns. Triple H can form this faction most likely at WWE Fastlane where Joe and Zayn would take out Rowan to help Owens win the title.

Next week, this newly formed alliance can help Triple H gain an upper hand over Batista and in this way, the faction can begin its working.

If Daniel Bryan retains the WWE Championship, the chances of Evolution 2.0’s formation are minimal and thus, Kevin Owens must win the title to kick off a new era on SmackDown Live.
