#1. SmackDown's women's division could greatly use Bayley's help.
Bayley was one of the bright spots of SmackDown before she suffered her unfortunate ACL injury in July. Her character was annoying, but the work she was doing was so good that it got her cheered for her efforts. When she confronted the Bellas at WrestleMania, she was cheered instead of the twins.
In a tweet from September, the former SmackDown Women's Champ claimed she was ready to return. Bayley has been very active on Twitter during episodes of SmackDown, even mocking Shayna Baszler during the Draft. She also backed Liv Morgan when the latter said she would win the Queen's Crown Tournament.

Bayley is one of the most well-rounded performers in all of WWE. She can play a heel or a face, but when she returns to action, it will have to be as a face. That doesn't mean that Bayley will have to return to her Hugger gimmick. She could simply tweak her heel persona and direct it towards the bad gals on SmackDown.
SmackDown has a few credible faces in Banks and Naomi. But if neither dethrones the Queen, then Bayley's chances grow if she returns to SmackDown.
There's also the possibility that Bayley could return and win the 2022 Women's Royal Rumble. Big returns always happen at that PPV and her return would line up with healing from her injury in July. If she did win the Rumble, it would mean that three of the Four Horsewomen of NXT would have won that match.
SmackDown's women's division needs some work. If Bayley and/or Asuka join it, that work will be done. Bayley seems synonymous with SmackDown due to her long reign as Champion. For that reason alone, her returning to the blue brand seems like the right call. Will it happen, or will she come back on RAW?
