WWE will return to Charlotte, North Carolina this Sunday for their next pay-per-view, Clash of Champions. The card looks promising, with every championship set to be defended at the event.

WWE boasts the most talented and deepest roster in the industry right now, with their monthly pay-per-views drawing in a large number of fans. However, as big as the company is, their shows often get affected by odd booking decisions that leave fans disappointed.

In order for Clash of Champions to be an enjoyable and memorable show, here are five mistakes that WWE must not make at the PPV.

#5 Excluding The Fiend from the event

The Fiend not being part of the show will be a big mistake

After being absent from WWE television for over a year, Bray Wyatt finally made his return to the squared circle at SummerSlam as The Fiend in a match against Finn Balor. The Fiend is arguably the most interesting character in the entire company right now, so excluding him from Clash of Champions might not be the best decision.

After it was revealed that Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker would return to RAW and SmackDown respectively, fans were expecting The Fiend to appear and attack either man, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. Wrestling fans love surprises. By witnessing The Fiend appear on Sunday unannounced, the atmosphere in the arena will be indefinable.

Although being overexposed is the last thing the character needs right now, being excluded from the PPV and later challenging for the Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell against Seth Rollins or Braun Strowman as per reports, could result in the fans slowly turning on him as they might feel he's being over-pushed or shoved down their throats.

The Fiend is shaping up to be a very successful experiment, and if booked correctly, he might turn out to be a legendary character like, let's say, The Undertaker.

#4 Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins walking out with the RAW Tag Team Championships

The team of Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins, who were randomly paired together on an episode of RAW and won the RAW Tag Team Championships from The OC in the very same night, are set to defend their titles against another randomly paired team of Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler.

What's even stranger than Rollins and Strowman being tag champions is the fact that they'll both have to face each other in the main event of Clash of Champions for the Universal Championship.

Taking the titles from The OC was a massive mistake, which led to the stable losing all their credibility in one night. Rollins and Strowman don't need the RAW tag titles, so it'd be best if they dropped the belts to Roode and Ziggler.

After turning heel, sporting a new mustache and changing his name from Bobby to Robert Roode, nothing much came from the adjustment, but with an opportunity at the gold, Roode can finally get his much-needed push along with Dolph as RAW Tag Team Champions.

#3 Sasha Banks losing to Becky Lynch

After capturing the RAW and SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch was embroiled in a long feud with a green Lacey Evans. Evans wasn't perceived to be a threat to Becky's title reign, and it seemed like The Man was running out of credible challengers for her title.

Then came Sasha Banks, just in time to give Becky the challenge she desperately needed. Banks not only saved The Man's title reign, but she also had people talking about the women's division once again.

Banks and Lynch, who know each other very well, are set to collide on Sunday and for the first time in a while, it seems like Becky is in jeopardy of losing her title. The Boss just returned to the company, that too as a heel, so losing to The Man will be a blunder. At Clash of Champions, Sasha Banks needs to win the RAW Women's Championship.

The last thing WWE needs right now is to turn her into Lacey Evans 2.0. If she loses, then there's nothing left for Becky. Who will she face next? Who else on the current roster is credible enough to challenge her? But if she loses to Banks, their feud will continue after the event and we could possibly see her get her much-needed second reign as RAW Women's Champion.

#2 Seth Rollins defeating Braun Strowman to retain the Universal Championship

WWE has completely missed the boat with Braun Strowman. The Monster Among Men was once an unstoppable force to be reckoned with, but typical of WWE, he lost most of his credibility after being another victim of bad booking.

Strowman has competed in numerous matches for the Big Red Belt but ended up losing all of them. He even faced The Beast for the title several times, but unfortunately, not even a monster like him was capable of dethroning Lesnar. Yet, Seth Rollins did it twice this year.

If Strowman loses the match and fails to capture the Universal Title, then he'll probably never win it. Seth's run as Universal Champion has been a bit underwhelming, so putting the title on Strowman is the best thing that could happen right now.

If he fails to defeat Rollins, his character will be slightly hurt and that's something WWE needs to avoid. The Monster Among Men should've been Universal Champion a long time ago. A run as the Universal Champion for him is long overdue. WWE must not make the mistake of making him lose to Seth Rollins.

#1 Kofi Kingston retaining the WWE Championship

Being a challenger for the WWE Championship is nothing new for Randy Orton. The Viper has held the title nine times, and he is currently the biggest active competitor in the company. With SmackDown Live moving to FOX in October, WWE needs a huge star to carry the brand.

Randy Orton would fit that role perfectly, and to do that, he needs to defeat Kofi Kingston to win the WWE Championship. Kingston undoubtedly deserves to be WWE Champion, but it's time he dropped the title to another Superstar.

His reign isn't going to last forever, and since Clash of Champions is the last PPV before SmackDown's move to FOX, WWE needs to pull the string now by crowning Randy Orton the new WWE Champion. He deserves it after all.

Kofi retaining might not be a good idea, as fans will soon get tired of him and end up turning on him.
