There could be some major twists planned for WrestleMania Backlash

We are just a few days away from WWE's first post-WrestleMania 37 pay-per-view as WrestleMania Backlash is set to take place this Sunday on May 16, 2021. The company has done a decent job with the match card for WrestleMania Backlash and fans are eager to find out who comes out on top.

A total of six matches have been announced so far, with five championships on the line from RAW and SmackDown. There are high chances that the WWE Universe might see at least one title change hands at WrestleMania Backlash. WWE has been doing a pretty good job with all their pay-per-views recently and they would want to continue the same this Sunday. A number of twists and turns could be on the cards.

Let's take a look at five bold predictions for WrestleMania Backlash. Be sure to comment down and let us know your predictions for the show.

#5 The Fiend attacks the WWE Champion at WrestleMania Backlash

WrestleMania Backlash is set to feature WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defending his title against Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman in a triple threat match. Fans are really looking forward to watching these three heavyweights tear it down in the ring and destroy each other to walk out as the WWE Champion.

None of them is a clear favorite heading into the match and it is possible that we might see a new WWE Champion get crowned at WrestleMania Backlash. However, if Lashley retains his title, there is a possibility of a massive post-match attack at the hands of "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, who could reveal his intentions to come after the WWE Championship.

The Fiend suffered a massive loss at WrestleMania 37 when Alexa Bliss cost him his match against Randy Orton. Wyatt did appear on RAW after that but hasn't been on TV for the last few weeks. WrestleMania Backlash could see the return of The Fiend and the start of a major championship program for him.

#4 Jimmy Uso turns heel and helps Roman Reigns retain at WrestleMania Backlash

The Universal Championship will be on the line at WrestleMania Backlash as Roman Reigns will defend his title against Cesaro. Jey Uso has played a massive part in helping Reigns retain his title on multiple occasions. Last week on Friday Night SmackDown, Jimmy Uso finally returned to WWE TV after being out of action for several months due to an injury.

It was at WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 where Jimmy came out to the ring to save his brother Jey from the vicious assault of Reigns. The Tribal Chief won the match and then went on to attack an already injured Jimmy Uso. This week on SmackDown, Jimmy wasn't completely on board with Roman Reigns and that has led to some fans speculating that he could end up costing Reigns his Universal title at WrestleMania Backlash.

However, in what would be an incredible twist, Jimmy Uso could properly turn heel at WrestleMania Backlash and go on to help Roman Reigns retain his title against Cesaro. This could ultimately lead to The Bloodline's long-awaited heel run, dominating the roster of SmackDown in the coming months.

#3 The alliance between The Miz and John Morrison ends at WrestleMania Backlash

This past week on Monday Night RAW, a lumberjack match was made official for WrestleMania Backlash between Damian Priest and The Miz. For those who might not know, a lumberjack match involves the ring being surrounded by a group of wrestlers as the two competitors fight inside the ring. The lumberjacks prevent the superstars from getting out of the ring and can even attack them if they do.

In all likeliness, Priest will be walking out of the match as the winner. WWE should also make sure that this is the end of his feud against The Miz and John Morrison. Priest could move to a bigger feud, possibly entering the United States title picture in the coming weeks.

As for The Miz and John Morrison, WrestleMania Backlash could finally see the end of their alliance. The two have been together ever since Morrison's return to WWE last year. At WrestleMania Backlash, The Miz could lose to Priest and in frustration, end up attacking Morrison. This could lead to John Morrison turning face and feuding with The Miz for a while, before possibly going on to have a proper singles run.

#2 Aleister Black reveals his big plans at WrestleMania Backlash

WWE Backlash, this year known as WrestleMania Backlash, is not usually the pay-per-view that the company presents immediately after WrestleMania. Last year, it was Money in the Bank that happened before Backlash. This year, the two pay-per-views have probably been switched on the calendar. This Sunday at WrestleMania Backlash, WWE might announce the date of this year's Money in the Bank.

To add to the excitement, Aleister Black could appear in a backstage segment at WrestleMania Backlash and announce himself to be the first participant in this year's men's Money in the Bank match. After being absent from WWE TV for over six months, the former NXT Champion finally returned to SmackDown a few weeks ago in some brilliantly-made vignettes.

WWE has likely made some significant changes in his gimmick and fans can't wait to see Black return to action. He could be a great choice to become Mr. Money in the Bank 2021, possibly leading to a world title reign later this year. Aleister Black has a lot of potential and if only given a proper chance, he could prove his worth.

#1 Alexa Bliss debuts a new look at WrestleMania Backlash

WrestleMania Backlash could see a massive gimmick debut from Monday Night RAW Superstar Alexa Bliss. Ever since turning on The Fiend at WrestleMania 37, she has been appearing on RAW in eerie segments. She has also introduced the WWE Universe to Lilly, a scary-looking doll, who is potentially the source behind all her darkness.

Alexa Bliss has made it clear that she and Lilly are coming after a RAW Superstar. The two even appeared on the stage this past week on RAW during the match where Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Shayna Baszler teamed up to face Asuka, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke. Now, there have been a lot of theories around where this angle is headed towards. There have been speculations of some superstar playing the character of Lilly and teaming up with Bliss.

The last bold prediction for WrestleMania Backlash is that Alexa Bliss will debut a new look and attack the winner of the RAW Women's Championship match between Rhea Ripley, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair. Bliss could appear at WrestleMania Backlash in a mask, somewhat inspired by the looks of Lilly, similar to how Bray Wyatt appears as The Fiend.
